Nanjing Media College was formerly known as Nanguang College of Communication University of China, and was founded in 2004. There are currently 13 secondary colleges, including broadcasting and hosting College, Radio and Television College, School of Journalism and Communication, School of International Communication, School of Photography, School of Drama and Film, School of Art and Design, School of Animation and Digital Art, School of Cultural Management, School of Media Technology, School of E-sports, School of Dance and School of Music.

General Education Center, University Foreign Languages Department, International College, College of Continuing Education, Construction Point of Provincial Key Industry College (College of Electronic Commerce and Digital Economy Industry directly under Jiangsu Province) and other directly affiliated units have also established postgraduate workstations with Suzhou University to jointly train professional masters and prepare for postgraduate education.
