A trip to Yunnan-Shilin Ashima

When it comes to Kunming, Yunnan, many people will think of the touching legends of Shilin and Ashima. The first time I knew the story of Ashima, I saw it in an old movie in my early years.

Yang Likun, an old artist, told us the love story of the Yi Sani people, Ashima and Little Black Brother, who fought against power and pursued freedom, and also showed the Yi people's "out-and-out" spirit.

We were lucky enough to come to Shilin to enjoy the true story of Ashima. The Yi ladies who explained to us were all dressed in beautiful Yi costumes, beautiful and generous, and we all called them Ashima directly.

Follow Ashima into the stone forest, while enjoying the rugged stone forest group, while listening to the tour guide explain the beautiful and kind story of Ashima and Little Black Brother against the landlord forces. I listened to the scenes and stories with relish.

Shilin Group is a typical karst landform with winding paths and different scenery. Stone peaks and columns can be seen everywhere, some isolated and some connected in various ways, which fully shows the ingenuity of nature. Elephant-shaped stones with countless names show us stories one by one.

? One of the most famous and vivid is Ashima. It vividly depicts a Yi girl, Ashima, standing there with a basket on her back, looking at her beloved brother Ahei.

The expression and action are so vivid that people really think that Ashima did it. If you call her name, you can really hear the wonderful echo. This is the magical legend of nature, which has created such a strange world for us.

It is not only the unique landform of Shilin that attracts us, but also the beautiful and pleasant story of Ashima. We applaud this stubborn girl who is kind and brave and does not bow to power.

If you come to Shilin on June 24th of the lunar calendar, you will catch up with the annual Torch Festival here. The surrounding Yi and Han people will gather here to celebrate the festival. They wrestle, climb telephone poles, fight bullfights, play with dragons and lions and perform folk songs and dances. Actors and tourists sing and dance together, which is very lively.

? Wherever you go, in addition to enjoying the scenic spots, the most important thing is the local cultural characteristics. The essence of these ethnic groups and the inheritance of ideas have gathered into a unique national culture.

It is these unique and distinctive cultures that attract Chinese and foreign tourists here. Perhaps the Stone Forest is just some silent stones in the eyes of the world, but it symbolizes the Yi people and the resolute, brave, intelligent and kind Ashima people.
