Jingxing Mountain Tourism in Shijiazhuang: Gantao Lake, known as the Little Three Gorges in the North.

Gantao Lake, also known as Zhanghewan Reservoir, started construction at 1976, and put into operation at 1980. The reservoir is located in the upper reaches of Gan Tao River, a tributary of Yehe River, the main inflow river of Huangbizhuang Reservoir. The dam site is 40 kilometers away from Jingxing County and 80 kilometers away from Shijiazhuang City. The total installed capacity of the power station is 1000MW, and four units are installed, with a single unit capacity of 250MW. The designed total storage capacity is 96.47 million cubic meters,

Gantao Lake, located in the southern mountainous area of Jingxing County, is one of the few primary secondary forests with excellent ecology, complete protection and large area in China. The scenic spot has steep mountains, many strange peaks and rocks, more than 400 kinds of plants/kloc-0 and hundreds of rare trees. Gantao Lake, a state-level energy storage power station, is known as the "Three Gorges in the North". In this area, peach blossoms bloom in spring and summer.

With the expansion project of Zhanghewan Reservoir, a scenic spot named Gantao Lake is also under planning and construction, and Cangyan Mountain-Gantao Lake-Nansizhang will form an original sub-forest tourism belt. Gantao Lake will be a beautiful "northern Lijiang River" artificial "heavenly lake" and become a good place for people in the whole city and even the whole province to travel and spend their holidays in summer.
