How to make food more beautiful?
Shoot food in natural light.
Natural light has good color rendering. Compared with the photos of recipes that require strict light, many photos in food magazines are taken by photographers using natural light, which can achieve good results.
When using natural light, you should pay attention to choosing soft light as much as possible. Generally speaking, the position near the window is ideal, because the glass window can soften the light to a certain extent. If the light is too strong, you can use translucent gauze to soften the light. At this time, the subject in the indoor shadow is often dim in the picture. At this time, you can easily find the white paper in the room and let it serve as a reflector for the time being. Generally speaking, food photos taken by natural light are closer to life, more real and therefore more intimate.
When shooting indoors in natural light, the photographer should also control the white balance setting of the photo, because it may be affected by indoor lighting. Because the automatic white balance function of the camera may not be able to completely and accurately restore the real dishes, the photographer can use the white plate as a reference to set a custom white balance.
For different dishes, photographers can also choose to adjust the white balance appropriately according to their different characteristics to enhance the color expression of photos and create cold and warm tones. At the same time, if the photographer wants to change the portrayal effect of light, he can change the shooting position. The change of shooting position will change the angle and direction of natural light shining on the subject in the photo at the same time, thus producing different effects.
It is best to shoot western food in natural light, because western food often has better color and texture.
Like many other photographic subjects, food can be photographed by various conventional composition and lighting techniques. According to the characteristics of the subject, photographers often shoot food from the top. At this time, by controlling the depth of field, the main body of the picture can be highlighted, creating a good three-dimensional sense and focus.
Using large aperture and close-up mode to meet two of the three elements of depth of field can effectively reduce the depth of field of the picture and highlight the subject. When the color and shape of the subject are similar, it is very necessary to selectively highlight the key points of the picture, which can make the messy picture orderly and better highlight the layering of the picture.
Not all cuisines are suitable to be portrayed by comparing reality with reality. When there are many important objects, photographers need to use a small aperture and a large enough depth of field to clearly display all the objects.
Shoot the cake through the contrast between reality and reality, so that the picture has a clear subject.
The texture of food comes from the photographer's grasp of light. Whether it is natural light or artificial light, controlling the angle and direction of light can show the texture of food.
In general, sidelight has a good performance effect in food photography. Whether using the light from the restaurant window or using artificial light source, the light on the side can show the three-dimensional sense of food.
It should be pointed out that side light is often not the main light, but the auxiliary light in food photography, and sometimes photographers have to face the situation that indoor light and natural light projected outside the window work together. But as long as there is side light, the picture will not lack enough texture. When necessary, props such as reflectors are needed to fill the shadows in the picture to enhance the overall effect of the photo.
The side light shows the texture of food incisively and vividly.
Diagonal composition
The composition of the dishes depends on the demand. Under normal circumstances, the oval board or long board is set at 45 degrees left and right, and the picture is more vivid and not rigid. When the square disk is put in the right position, it is trapezoidal and generous. Special-shaped disc depends on the specific situation, the composition should not be too straight, and it should have a certain inclination to add interest to the picture. Pay attention to check and remove foreign bodies on the edge of dishes before shooting to make the picture clean. The dishes on the left are bright green with a hazy red background, especially the dishes are placed obliquely, and the composition and color matching create a vivid and warm atmosphere.
Through the change of shooting angle and the placement of dishes, a diagonal composition is created.
Curve composition
Many times, shooting a single object will make the subject look thin, thus losing its texture and attraction. At this time, you can consider adding subjects. As shown on the right, crispy tortillas can be put more, and curved ones can be placed according to the trend. Relying on the group effect and the expressive force of the curve can attract visual attention and induce people's appetite.
For the artistic conception of the picture, you can also decorate red flowers and green leaves under the yellow theme, so that the color is not monotonous and adds a perfect and rich feeling.
