800 shooting sites

The main shooting location of 800 is Huayi Brothers Film World Shooting Base on Yangcheng Lake Peninsula in Suzhou Industrial Park. The whole shooting base is located at the edge of Yangcheng Lake, covering an area of about 200 mu, surrounded by a wall more than two meters high, which is not open to the public.

In order to highlight the "double sky" on both sides of Suzhou River, the crew specially built more than 60 "colorful" buildings on the Suzhou River on the other side of the four-row warehouse. In fact, the Suzhou River opposite the four-row warehouse is not the bustling area of the concession, but some low-rise houses and warehouses.

The crew brought the dance halls, casinos, theaters and nightclubs in Shanghai to the opposite side of the four rows of warehouses, in order to create a strong contrast between "here is heaven and there is hell". The picture above shows the Paramount Ballroom in the play. In fact, the real Paramount Gate is not in Suzhou River at all.

Extended data:

On September 9, 20 17, Eight Hundred was officially launched in Suzhou. After 230 days of shooting, it was officially released on April 27, 20 18. The requirements of film art scenery are relatively difficult, and the construction of shooting base has been adjusted and modified with the requirements of the crew, in order to light up each floor of the four rows of warehouses.

800 photography departments cooperated with art and engineering departments and opened nearly 200 holes on four floors. Now, the lighting configuration of the studio is the same as that of the stage. The lighting in each area of the warehouse is connected to the dimming meter for unified control, and even the neon lights in the concession area can be controlled according to the shooting needs!
