Notes for Readers

The National Library receives readers over the age of 16 (Children's Library receives children aged 6-15); Weekends and national holidays can receive middle school students and children accompanied by their parents; Receive group visits organized by primary and secondary schools throughout the year.

With the ID card, residence booklet, military officer's card, soldier's card, passport, Hong Kong and Macao pass or Taiwan compatriots' home visit card, you can apply for the National Library reader card for the first time free of charge, enjoy the basic functions of the reader card and handle the extended functions according to the procedures if other corresponding conditions are met; Children should apply for readers' cards of children's libraries with valid identity documents (ID cards, household registration books, passports, Hong Kong and Macao passes, Taiwan compatriots' home visits), student status cards, and student ID cards (see the relevant regulations on accreditation for details);

To enter the reading room and service point, you must hold the reader card of the National Library; China citizens over the age of 16 can enter the open-shelf reading room with the second-generation ID card; Children enter the children's library with the children's library reader card of the National Library.

Cardholders must abide by the borrowing rules and relevant regulations of the National Library. If the violation is serious, the borrowing function of the reader card/second-generation ID card will be suspended until it is handled and corrected.

Older readers with preferential cards can borrow books first; Disabled readers with disability certificates are exempt from Internet browsing fees;

Carry-on bags, drinking water and other items unrelated to borrowing should be sent to the bag storage office free of charge with a valid reader card or ID card;

Due to the limited seats, in order to meet the needs of readers, please do not bring personal books (including books borrowed from our library) to study in the library;

Pay attention to the appearance, and don't wear sweat vest and flip-flops.

Please don't smoke and use naked flames in the museum area, and don't bring inflammable and explosive articles into the museum;

Please eat and drink at the designated place, and do not bring food or liquid articles into the library;

Please don't entertain and engage in transactions and other activities unrelated to reading books and periodicals in the library;

Please keep the museum quiet, and put the mobile communication equipment in a silent state when entering the room; Unless otherwise approved, photography and photography are prohibited in the reading room (flash lamps are not allowed);

Please consciously abide by the public order and the management regulations of the National Library, and obey the staff management.
