[Digital Camera] On the Use of Several Filters in the Digital Age

In the digital age, with the rapid development of cameras. The function of the filter is not so obvious. Let me introduce several filters commonly used in the digital age.

1, color temperature control filter

In color photography, various filters are needed to control the color temperature. In black-and-white photography, various color filters are used to control the tone and contrast, while yellow filters are very commonly used in black-and-white photography, which can absorb most of the blue-purple light, make the photo effect natural and moderate, and highlight the clouds. It is essential to shoot scenery, flowers, bonsai and still life.

2. Variable diameter mirror

The basic function of the subtracter for controlling exposure can also be realized by controlling the sensitivity (ISO) of the camera. Some cameras even have a built-in ND filter function. Only in extreme conditions, such as when a slow shutter is needed to display motion in bright outdoor light, it is necessary to add a real subtractor in front of the camera. The soft feeling of water is expressed by reducing mirror and ultra-low shutter speed.

3. UV mirror

UV mirror is almost a necessary additional mirror for SLR lens, because natural sunlight contains a lot of ultraviolet rays, which will form fog on the film. In fact, the composite filter in front of the image sensor of the digital camera already contains the function of blocking ultraviolet rays. Therefore, UV mirrors are not completely necessary for digital cameras, and some poor quality UV mirrors will also reduce the imaging quality and form reflective ghosts.

4. Ticketing

Polarizer is the most important filter in landscape photography. Many photographers know how to use polarizers to make the blue sky bluer and eliminate the reflection of glass, water and metal, but in fact polarizers can do more. Put a polarizer in front of the camera, turn it and you will find that the color becomes stronger. It's easy to use a polarizer, just screw it on your lens, look through your viewfinder and rotate it at the same time until you get a satisfactory result. Sometimes you can't see any change by rotating the polarizer, because the polarizer only works when the direction of light is at 90 degrees with the axis of the polarizer. If the light comes directly from behind you or you are shooting directly from the light source, the polarizer will not have obvious effect.

5, gradient mirror

Gradient lens It is easy to change the angle by using the plug-in gradient lens, and moving up and down can change the gradient ratio and shoot better works. It is an inevitable action to take horizontal and demanding landscape photos, plus various suitable filters. In addition to polarizers and nd dimming filters, various gradient filters are important tools for shooting landscapes.
