Guide reading

The west area of Pingjiang Road is the essence of Pingjiang culture. You can use your legs to visit the real Suzhou culture with a history of 2,500 years, Dingjia Lane, the hometown of Prime Minister Song Dynasty, Shipoqiao Lane, Pan's former residence, Pan Zuyin's former residence, Gujia Garden after the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, the most famous buildings in the old times, and cultural relics protection units and controlled buildings at all levels in Donghua Bridge Lane. There are also authentic Suzhou cuisines for you: double skin milk, bubble wonton, jiaozi with wine, sugar porridge and so on.

There is no predetermined goal, only a predetermined point. The beauty of the ancient city of Suzhou lies not in the goal. Enjoy this feeling of exploration and constant surprise. Walking around the streets, discovering the unknown beauty, without a clear itinerary, and making random discoveries will bring different surprises. We use our legs and lenses to explore the most authentic Suzhou. It is our support to click on a like and forward it.

At the same time, sincerely welcome to join us to explore the journey of Wu culture and witness the changes in Suzhou over the years. I love photography, travel and hiking once a week. This is a real example!

Dingjia lane

Dingjiaxiang is the starting point of this trip, and it is not far from Linton Road on Metro 1 Line. In the Song Dynasty, because it was the hometown of Ding Wei, it was named Ding Xiang and Ding Square during the period of Chunhua (990-994). The puppies in Suzhou Alley are normal, most of them are docile, watching us while frolicking.

There is a small restaurant at the corner of the alley, which is rich in all kinds of Soviet snacks. A bowl of red bean dumplings sprinkled with osmanthus flowers and freshly wrapped bubble wonton solved our breakfast. The variety of small shops is rich, and the taste can only be said to be passable, so it is not recommended here.

There is a controlled building Wu Zhai in the lane, and the east wall is its characteristic. The two-color brick wall is inlaid with diamond patterns. The buildings were built in the early years of the Republic of China. Under the influence of western culture, they were built in accordance with western styles. The original owner was a big landlord named Wu. There is an iron gate locked at the door, and you can see this characteristic brick wall from the outside.

Dingjia Lane is not long. Just a few hundred meters away, I came to the next alley. I happened to see grandpa riding a bike, which was very time-sensitive. I especially like this kind of alley where cars can't get through, and I can capture such a simple picture.

Jianxin lane

Jianxin Lane was originally named Qingyuan Square, and the former residence of chemist Gu Yidong is in this lane. Gu Yidong, 1952, Professor of Fudan University. Academician of China Academy of Sciences, founder of tungsten chemistry research in China.

The well at the entrance of the lane is called Rende Spring, but the original site is not here. When Ganjiang Road was rebuilt, the well circle was moved to the well at the entrance of Jianxin Lane, which was dug by Nanlin Commune in the 13th year of the Republic of China (1924). Up to now, the water quality is clear and used by the people.

There are green plants in front of the residents of Qiaoxiang, which makes the alley full of natural vitality. There are controlled buildings of Yizhuang, Dongshi and Qing Dynasty in the alley. Yizhuang has many explanations. One explanation is that it refers to a specific place where unburied coffins are temporarily stored. Here, I hope people in the industry can tell me the meaning of many righteous villages in Suzhou.

The east of the lane is called "Shipoqiao Lane" and the west is called Dalangqiao Lane. Now the east side of the new lane is called "Sipo Bridge", and the Sipo Bridge is called Pingjiang Road.

Pingjiang Road is full of commercial atmosphere and people are constantly flowing, which is completely different from the alley dozens of meters away, showing the tranquility of the alley.

Merchants on Pingjiang Road must have paid enough attention to the taste of Suzhou. Although they don't want to take the initiative to introduce businesses, I took these two photos, and many people will have seen the second one online.

Niujia lane

Warning: This section will be longer. Niujiaxiang was originally named Lanjiaxiang, and was called Gaby Lane in ancient times. Lan Songshi Ji lived in this alley, hence the name. There is the former residence of Pan, a great scholar, in the lane, which was once the pavilion of King Chen Yucheng of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. There are also Fengchi Garden ruins, Dongshi Yizhuang, Zhenjue Temple, Chenzhai and Fangzhai.

I didn't expect to see a dog taking a shit at first sight. Looking at my little expression of extreme injustice in the camera, it is estimated that being looked at is very helpless.

The aunt who was peeling broad beans by the roadside chatted and photographed people. Many friends are a little at a loss when shooting characters in the street. In fact, it's ok to chat with ordinary people, talk about local cultural customs and bring a camera in person. Suzhou people are simple, hospitable and lovely. I have seen them many times and will take the initiative to lead the way for you.

This puppy has a cage and is not fierce at all. Question 1 Here comes: Why did Auntie do this?

Most old buildings facing the street will put some stools on the roadside. Imagine that neighbors are chatting happily together. Is it the process that the city gradually loses this emotion?

When spring goes and summer comes, aunt cleaner can actually sweep out so many fallen leaves that look like autumn.

During the loquat season, there are many loquat trees on the roadside, which are full of fruits, but these are not too sweet. I hope you don't pick them at will. The really delicious loquat in Suzhou is Dongshan White loquat.

The Neiwei Building in Lane was built in Qing Dynasty, where Ruan, a professor from Tongji University, once lived. The door says "Li Xinyi". Like most controlled buildings, most of them are rented, so it is difficult to explore the original architectural pattern. However, if you go through these alleys, you will find something else.

Suspected to have been abandoned for a long time, the dilapidated corridor has proper lighting, and the large row of meter boxes at the door is also sealed.

The wall of the building is covered with Parthenocissus tricuspidata, covering almost the whole house.

We may have found the only family that still lives in this alley. The house is not big, and there is a yard in front, which is very exquisite. When the shopkeeper saw us, he was very surprised that someone would come here to chat with us for a long time. This is a planned demolition place, and everyone around him has moved away. It is estimated that the owner will move out soon. In fact, from my point of view, I really don't want such a delicate and primitive old house to be demolished.

There is another well not far from the hospital. The well circle looks new, and the wellhead is covered with weeds. When the popularity fades, these histories will also be lonely.

Through the window grilles of the fence, I saw an old house, and then I found an opportunity to look around.

This is a good courtyard, but it is full of loneliness that has been abandoned for a long time, leaving only ancient vicissitudes and dilapidated walls. After we took a few photos, we were quickly persuaded by the security guards who didn't know where they came from and suggested that this place was already a dangerous building.

Champion Museum (Pan Former Residence)

Suzhou Zhuangyuan Pavilion was originally the former residence of Pan, the champion of Suzhou in the Qing Dynasty. It has a history of more than 200 years, and is a part of the ancient garden. Pan Zhai was once known as the "scholar's mansion" and "land of great wealth".

Pan (1770- 1854) was the top scholar in the fifty-eight years of Qing Qianlong (1793) and served as an official for more than fifty years. He was knowledgeable, participated in the compilation of Sikuquanshu, and later succeeded as the president of Sikuquanshu, and was jointly responsible for the compilation and publication of Quantang Wen with President Wen Yingtang. He is the author of "Reading Historical Mirror Ancient Edition" and "Four Zhai Notes". During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, Pan Zhai was temporarily stayed for three days by King Chen Yucheng of England, so it was also called the "Palace" or even the "British Palace". 1963 was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Suzhou. 1984 Rebuilding Shamao Hall, Moving Flower Basket Hall and Brick Carved Gatehouse.

The interior is large and full of cultural atmosphere, and the old wall corridor is covered with folding fan shapes on both sides.

Tell me something about Fu Xue in Suzhou. An important turning point in Suzhou's ancient education was the Fu Xue of Suzhou founded by Fan Zhongyan, a famous minister in the second year of the Northern Song Dynasty (1035). Fu Xue in Suzhou laid the foundation for the prosperity of Suzhou literature movement and was the cradle of literati. In Suzhou history, most of the top scholars after the Song Dynasty came from Fu Xue, Suzhou. Actually reminds me of The National SouthWest Associated University. When a cultural atmosphere is formed, the humanistic wind will flourish. From Fu Xue, Suzhou to modern times, it is now Suzhou Middle School and the oldest middle school in Jiangsu Province.

The small courtyard inside, with authentic Suzhou flavor, will really appreciate the massiness and precipitation brought by history, especially after you read the introduction in front of the Champion Pavilion, with a humanistic atmosphere. This is something that no modern building will have.

I wish this couple to be the first.

The exit is a modern cafe, which makes you feel like a lifetime ago and suddenly pulls back to reality from the immersion of history.

The exit leads directly to Linton Road, which is a main road connecting Guanqian Street, the most famous and lively commercial street in Suzhou. Every day, countless tourists from all over the world come here to travel, but this humble little champion museum is ignored by many people.

Xiaojiaxiang

Entering Xiaojiaxiang from Linton Road, there was a good graffiti on the wall, but it was blocked by the decoration workers with wooden boards and almost wanted to move away.

Xiaojiaxiang, formerly known as Jiuqu Wall Lane, is the hometown of the top scholar in the Song Dynasty. In the late Qing Dynasty, Wu Zhong's famous doctor Ai once lived here (Tang Yide Xiaojiaxiang 15), "Yuanhe County Town God Temple" (Yinhetang), and Xiaojiaxiang No.48, which originally meant "the yamen of Sheol County". Although it is in an alley, it smells good. And this alley is really beautiful, more unique and exquisite than all the alleys I have photographed before. There are small scenes along the way.

Ai's former residence, Suzhou native, Wuzhong famous doctor. He is good at treating typhoid fever and has many disciples, among whom Wang is one of the four famous doctors in Jingshi. The building was built in the Qing Dynasty, with two roads and three entrances, facing south.

The flies restaurant in the alley, the dense menu makes people gasp in admiration. This is just one wall, and there are menus on the other side.

Wang Zhai, located at No.53 Xiaojiaxiang, was built in the Qing Dynasty, and Li Zhiheng was written on the door.

Inside are some husbands' rooms.

Ding Zhai, built in the Qing Dynasty, now sits in the lobby of the south building facing north, and is now the "Wang Xiaohui Art Museum". However, the doors are closed. Many controlled buildings usually have a good warranty if they become some businesses or have descendants to live in, while others are relatively dilapidated.

Suzhou local brand Shuangxi milk, many people drink this brand since childhood.

Out of the alley, I came to Pingjiang Road. The chicken feet on Pingjiang Road are also famous. Most people will chew chicken feet on the stone pillars by the river and enjoy the taste of Jiangnan water town.

Xiaojing, Pingjiang Road, I was thinking, maybe I will make a special version of doors and windows in the future.

Question 2 is coming. What is this handsome little brother doing? Tip: Brother throws the garbage into the river, then picks it up, then throws it to another place and then picks it up.

Everyone is familiar with this, and it has been circulated quite well. In my opinion, everything is fine, but not good. It's annoying to turn many of my little scenes into popular punch points.

Walking is a little tired, and then it's lunch time. Switch to the food channel.

Lunch at Tuzao Restaurant

This earthen stove restaurant has been open on Pingjiang Road for several years. This is a special dish. Can you guess which one?

Thousand Island Lake Big Fish Head.

My favorite mixed noodles.

My friend made his own meat and bone noodles, but this noodles can't be seen.

Merchants still keep the way they always need their own on-site orders.

? The umbrella on the path at the door is so beautiful. Please look forward to the next one, more exciting! ! !

Previous series of photos: (We took every route by ourselves and took every photo by ourselves! )

Take a picture of an alley heading north, and then go to the late-night soybean milk shop to find out.

Here I am again, cherry blossoms, architecture and food.

This obscure little restaurant has been open for more than 20 years and is about to disappear.
