The second issue of offline moments-shared by famous photographer Su Liwen

20 19: 30-2 1: 30 On the evening of 2065 438+0:30 in Tianlu, Xiamen Software Park Phase II, Ivan, founder of TED Xiamen Amateur Community, invited Alex Soh, a world-renowned photographer, to share.

The gains of this sharing far exceeded my expectations, because my expected sharing should be aimed at some professional problems of photography, or just problems related to photography, but the whole activity gave me the feeling of "eight degrees higher".

About Alex

His ancestral home is Anxi, Fujian. He grew up in the countryside of Singapore, so he likes nature very much. He said, "He seems to be in love with nature". He began to contact photography from the fourth grade until he joined the army. Because of his mother's death, he began to think about his future path, so he started his own photography journey and insisted on his original heart. Now he has become a world-famous excellent photographer.

Alex Soh gives me the feeling that he is approachable, modest, full of goodwill, full of positive energy and full of public welfare.

What is photography?

Because of vision and environmental problems, my understanding of photography is a bit narrow. But Alex said that the story behind each photo is more meaningful. He said that photography is his life and photography is his teacher. Photography made him introverted and made friends with people all over the world. Some even invited him to eat at home, while others invited him to live at home. Photography is the window for him to communicate with the whole world, the communication between hearts, and the extraordinary significance behind the story.

Photography is not just photography. What we see is a shocking story, a fruitful achievement behind our efforts, a link between life and the true meaning of life, a small exploration of nature and a bridge between people. Photographers present their thoughts and world through the lens with their unique perspective.

The story behind the photo

He shared his experiences several times, such as meeting a bear for taking pictures. He described his psychological feelings at that time and how he finally escaped from the bear's sight.

He sat on the cliff, enjoying the roar of the wind, the dancing of leaves, and the moment of life and death when he almost fell off the cliff.

He also took a photo about the crater. He saw a man picking flowers by the volcano. He said that sometimes a person's life may be worth a bunch of flowers.

And whenever he is in danger, although he is afraid at that moment, he will feel the greatness of nature and the smallness of human beings, thus fearing nature.

He said he loved nature. He likes to shoot everything about nature and wants more people to know that many places in the world are like this. He wants to let people know more about the world through photography. As a photographer, he helped Cambodia build a 3.7-kilometer-long road. When he did this, his friends thought he was crazy. But he persisted, and finally the road was built, which solved the most urgent and important problems of the local people. This matter touched me a lot. He has been helping many groups and walking on the road of public welfare. He wants to let more people who need help come out through photography and make the scale of life clearer.

Three touching views on photography

1. Every photo should have inherent rights.

The mission of a photo is not complete until it is printed and hung on the wall.

The best photos are not necessarily the photos with the best technology, but the photos with temperature that can touch your heart.

Thinking about life outside photography

1. Everyone has a gift. How to discover and use your talents and do what you like? Even if you are exhausted, you can still enjoy every moment.

2. What is the meaning of life? Maybe we are all looking for the moment when the window of life opens, that is, when we have an epiphany. Some people are earlier and some people are later, but it is not too late from now on.

3. Educate children, a thousand words. It is better to let children experience some life scenes and let them feel the truth of life by themselves. Achievement is not the most important thing, and neither is college. Finding the point where their interests and talents combine is the key. If they can find it and stick to it seriously, they will really benefit for life and be happy.

4. Choose one thing, stick to it seriously, and do it for ten or twenty years, or even longer. For example, if a coffee learner has been studying coffee for more than ten years, he doesn't need any certificate. Even if he is allowed to lie on the floor, he can make a cup of coffee skillfully. When you get to the extreme and have the right opportunity, you will be seen.

5. Always keep positive energy. If you don't know how to speak, then don't speak.

6. We must protect our eyes, because the eyes are connected with our brains and are our windows to perceive the outside world, especially photographers.

7. Everyone should learn to do something meaningful to others.

I am a person who follows my heart. I didn't do much homework before listening to the speech. I just feel that I like photography very much, so I took part in this activity. What I got at the scene is the content with the height, depth and breadth of life besides photography, which will be my treasure to cherish and learn.
