PS hand-painted deer illustration steps:
1. Open PS, Create a new file: I usually draw at 300 resolution, which is convenient if I want to print it out later.
2. Draw a sketch: Create a new layer and select a square brush. My draft is very sloppy, so I just need to be able to understand it. Remember to save the file at any time
3. Main silhouette drawing: (1) Fill the background with a color (fill it according to the main color you want to draw, the color should be grayer, and the saturation should not be too high. When drawing the silhouette I know the preliminary color matching, and you can also find reference for color matching)
(2) Put the draft on the top, and then draw the silhouette in layers (convenient for color matching and layering later), I use a hard pen + pen tool (You can also use the lasso tool to outline the shape and then fill it with color. I tried many options for the initial color matching, and finally chose the one I was most satisfied with and went deeper). Here is a little trick: create a new one on the top of the layer. The black and white adjustment layer (usually hidden) can be opened at any time to observe the sketch relationship of the picture, so as to avoid excessive colors and neglecting the picture levels (near, deep, shallow, near, large and far).
4. Light, shadow and level
(1) The deer is the protagonist, it should be prominent in the picture, use it as the visual center, use the brightest color, and then the light will slowly decay Light up all around. There are layered changes in the front, middle and back of the picture, and there are layered changes from the visual center to the surrounding areas. As long as you draw the changes (brightness, saturation, warm and cold, element size, etc.), the picture will look good.
(2) Gradually draw light and shadow according to the layers. Due to the flat style of the painting, only a little gradient is done. Don’t ignore the layers when making gradients. I used two methods to draw gradients:
A. Lock the transparency of the layer and use the airbrush brush to draw directly on the current layer;
B. Create a new layer and create Make a clipping mask and paint on top of the new layer.
5. Enrich the picture
(1) Add auxiliary elements. Leaves and swallows are added interspersed. A hard-edged round brush is used for the leaves. When painting, pay attention to adjusting the brush size and color.
A. For the leaves on the bottom layer, use the Lasso tool to outline the general shape, then use an airbrush to draw color changes, then use the Eraser tool to select a hard-edged circle and modify the shape.
B. Draw the middle and top directly with a hard-edged round brush.
C. Swallow uses the pen tool to outline the shape, then copies multiple copies and adjusts the size and color
D. The top leaves and swallows are subject to motion blur and Gaussian blur, and the depth of field effect enhances the picture level.
(2) Add reflections and water waves: reflections of mountains, trees, and deer on the water surface
A. Copy the layer to be reflected, then Ctrl+T to flip the layer vertically, and then Adjust the position, lock the transparency, fill the image with a darker color, and then use the airbrush to draw the transition.
B. Select the smudge tool, select volume smear, and then lightly smear the reflection close to the deer, paying attention to the degree and direction, and smear out the changes.
6. Atmosphere and final color grading
(1) Strengthen the visual center, create a new layer (change the blending mode of the layer to strong light), and then select the airbrush with a dark color Darken the edges of the picture and use bright colors to brighten the middle to increase contrast (for the strong light layer, use dark colors to make the dark parts darker, and use bright colors to make the bright parts brighter)
(2) Use metallic spots and spray paint Use the splash brush to add some noise highlights on the lake, pay attention to the changes
(3) Use the particle airbrush to add a little yellow noise to the tree in front (pay attention to the attenuation of color changes from the center outward)
(4) Find a highlight image, change the mode to color filter, erase the unnecessary parts, and adjust the size and position.
(5) Color balance: The dark parts are reddish and purple, and the bright parts are green and yellow (contrast between cold and warm). Sometimes it may take multiple attempts.
7. Finish the draft
(1) After completing the above steps, stamp the layer Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E, and then add about 2 noises
< p>(2) Select the sharpening tool to sharpen the deer in the visual center and the highlights on the water surface.(3) Save as image output
