Principle of high-speed camera

Principle of high-speed camera system;

High-speed cameras can quickly sample high-speed targets many times in a short time. When they are shown at normal speed, the recorded target changes will appear clearly and slowly in front of our eyes. High-speed camera technology has outstanding advantages such as real-time capture of targets, rapid recording of images, instant playback, and intuitive and clear images.

The high-speed moving target is irradiated by natural light or artificial auxiliary illumination to generate reflected light, or the moving target itself emits light, and this light passes through the imaging objective of the high-speed imaging system. After being imaged by the objective lens, it falls on the image sensing surface of the photoelectric imaging device, and the photoelectric device controlled by the driving circuit will respond quickly to the target image on the image sensing surface, that is, according to the light energy distribution of the target image on the image sensing surface, charge packets with response sizes are generated at each sampling point, that is, pixel points, to complete the photoelectric conversion of the image. Each charge packet with image information is quickly transferred to the readout register. After signal processing, the read signal is transmitted to the computer, which reads, displays and interprets the image and outputs the result. Therefore, a complete high-speed imaging system consists of optical imaging, photoelectric imaging, signal transmission, control, image storage and processing.

A high-speed camera can record a dynamic image at a very high frequency, because a dynamic image needs several still and continuous pictures to be played at a certain time speed. Generally, high-speed cameras can record at the speed of 1000~ 10000 frames per second, but this leads to that each pixel is not too high, even exceeding the pixel level of home digital cameras. It also needs an amazing storage.
