Choose to be a 3D animation designer or a programmer
The most important thing is to see what kind of design you will do after learning 3D!
I am an interior designer. Here is my understanding:
First, what is a designer? It turns out that I also like to call myself a designer. Design studies are I’ve learned a lot, but what I haven’t really learned is how to be a human being! In the eyes of many people, designer is a noble profession and an enviable profession, but it is not. If you have just started, if you are not yet 30 years old, it is recommended that you do not call yourself a designer. Why do you say this? It sounds a bit hurtful. As I get older, I also read a lot of things in this area, and I understand a truth: learn to be a person before the age of 30, and then become a designer after the age of 30. How can I be a designer because I have no life experience at all? To put it simply, I don’t know where to put oil, salt, sauce, and vinegar for cooking, so what else should I design?
Second, maybe you should be a human being. Maybe the competition in this industry is really too fierce now. Many people have given designers a new explanation. What is a designer? The owner regards the designer as a friend, but the designer only regards the owner's money as a friend. The designer can use various professional methods to make an otherwise understanding owner confused, and the originally confused owner is even more confused. Sadly, there are many Designers will make various small moves for their own benefit to achieve their own goals. I think you are the best designer only if others agree with you.
Third, let’s talk about being recognized by peers, which is some professional knowledge.
1. The basic contents you want to learn include pollution science, engineering mechanics, optics, ergonomics, color configuration tables, basic civil engineering, botany, etc.
There is already too much content here
A Pollution in decoration only refers to smell to the owner, but you need to learn about sound pollution, color pollution, light pollution, etc.
B Engineering Mechanics You need to know the main points and supporting parts of the house. These contents will determine how to change the use of a load-bearing wall without affecting the structure, earthquake resistance, etc.
C Different light, angle of light, width of illumination, and amount of light will determine the indoor effect.
D In ergonomics, you need to understand the basic walking space, sitting and standing space and other dimensions that are consistent with the human body.
To be honest, I am the worst at learning E color configuration. The areas where various colors are used and the people they are suitable for are very important.
F Basic engineering civil engineering requires understanding of the proposed structure of the house, the use of embedded parts, etc.
G Botany originally thought it was the least useful, but later I discovered a problem. Many people in high-end residences will make custom-made furniture. You need to know what kind of wood can be used for furniture and what kind of wood cannot be used.
2. Learn the basic processes of decoration, the use of small machinery, and various construction techniques.
Don’t just keep it in your mouth. Sometimes you will be looked down upon by the workers. Even if you don’t say it to your face, the workers know that you only talk about it and it won’t do any good, so the best way is Directly participate in a renovation yourself and do some content with your own hands. You are not afraid of damage. As long as you know how to do it, you will know what the workers are doing, and it will be much better to explain the rationality to the owner.
3. Learn drawing.
Many schools now teach people who don’t know how to design at all, such as two-point view, three-point view, structural diagram, and marker renderings. The tools you will use include scales, T-squares, sulfuric acid paper, drawing pens, compasses, etc. These tools are not cheap. But if your goal is just to be a computer draftsman then it's not necessary.
4. Learn decoration budget and materials
These contents are directly related to whether the verbal quotation between you and the owner is correct.
5. Computer drawing
For example, CAD, 3DMAX, plus photoshop. Most of the CAD drawings already exist in the computer, and 3DMAX also has pre-built models. The 2006 Designer Forum explained the concept of a designer. Some people who can be called designers now basically use hand-drawing, SketchUp, Artlantis, and piranesi. Those who are more profitable can use Windows drawing programs in ten years. Draw an interior rendering in five minutes.
6. I don’t know if there are schools that teach these contents. They are some so-called metaphysics. Some people call them superstitions, hahaha
But some of them still make sense. , so you should also learn some to prevent this kind of problem from occurring during decoration. Let’s take the simplest example. For home decoration, you can make a dumb mouth for the moon door, but it cannot have a door, because it can only be used at ten Only people in the underground palace of Sanling would use it.
Fourth, publicity of personality
As a designer, you will be somewhat different. In terms of personality, you may be more public and have a certain attitude towards things. To gain a deeper understanding, I met a photographer once. He told me that we actually see things from different angles. Photographers should retain the most beautiful planes, while designers should create the most beautiful structures.
Learning this business is actually harder than you think.
Software: Commonly used AutoCAD, 3Dmax rendering modeling, VR plug-in, lightscape rendering software, photoshop image processing software.
To learn interior design, you must first understand the design drawings. AutoCAD software is generally used for drawing construction drawings, floor plans, etc. It is practical and simple, and it is also a software that interior designers must master.
If you are interested in renderings, then 3Dmax is more interesting. It is not difficult to have ready-made models for this.
In addition, VR is a rendering plug-in for 3ds max.
The next step is to use lightscape to render graphics. This is also a very simple fool-type rendering software. It renders the light source after making the model.
Then there is the Photoshop image processing software, which is the key software for the success or failure of the renderings. The later modification of the renderings depends entirely on it. The most practical! ! ! Graphic design also comes in handy.
There are many ways to become a designer, some only know CAD, some only rely on 3D to make a living, and some designers only know hand-drawing, but they all know construction and materials well.
As for whether to learn concepts or software first, I personally think that we should start with materials and communication, which are the basis of design.
As far as I know, there is only one way to get started quickly with software, and that is constant practice.
An excellent designer cannot only be reflected in drawing. Successful interior design should have a good foundation in art and aesthetic ability, as well as knowledge about the performance, price, service life, applicability and maintenance of decoration materials.
If you want to learn interior design well, you should find an internship in a decoration company for a few months, and you will definitely learn it quickly.
