Xinyang Maojian Tea, also known as Mao Feng, Henan Province, is one of the top ten famous teas in China and one of the famous specialties in Henan Province. Its main producing areas are Shihe District of Xinyang City (formerly Xinyang City), Pingqiao District (formerly Xinyang County) and luoshan county. Created by Han tea farmers. In the early years of the Republic of China, five tea clubs in Xinyang tea area produced high-quality Benshan Maojian tea, which was officially named "Xinyang Maojian Tea".

According to the growing season of Xinyang Maojian tea, local people used to divide it into spring tea, summer tea and autumn tea (Bailu tea) according to the date of picking fresh leaves. Maojian tea is unfermented green tea. Fresh leaves just picked can't stay overnight. It must be kneaded, spread cold, immobilized, boiled, pot and baked on the same day to maintain the freshness of tea to the greatest extent. Xinyang Maojian tea has a unique style of "thin, round, bright, straight, white hair, high fragrance, strong taste and green soup color".
