What are the steps and basic techniques of marker pen painting
Introduction: Hand-painting is engaged in architecture, clothing display design, window design, home soft decoration design, space floral design, art, gardening, It is an important professional required course for students studying environmental art, photography, industrial design, visual communication and other majors. Let me take a look at the steps and basic techniques of marker pen painting. Hope it helps everyone.
1. Preparation.
To draw a successful rendering, preliminary preparation is essential. One of the major advantages of markers is that they are convenient and fast. The tools are not as complicated as watercolor and gouache. Paper and pen are enough. There are usually two types of paper: one is ordinary copy paper, which is used for drafts and sketches, and the other is sulfuric acid paper (A3), which is used for tracing and coloring manuscripts. Sulfuric acid paper is a very good paper type. Practice has proved that the effect of markers on sulfuric acid paper is quite good. The advantage is that it has reasonable translucency and can absorb certain colors. It can be superimposed multiple times to achieve satisfactory results. White paper such as copy paper absorbs colors too quickly, which is not conducive to the transition between colors. The drawings are often heavy and are not suitable for in-depth characterization. They are only suitable for sketches and color exercises. There are also two types of pens, syringe pens and marker pens. The syringe pen is preferably a disposable one, from Red Ring or Mitsubishi. There are several models available. Use 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.8. The changes in line type will enrich the picture. Disposable needle pens have good volatility on sulfuric acid paper and have smooth lines. Water-filled needle pens or pens dry very slowly and can easily smear the picture. The marker pens are from the "TOUCH" series produced in Korea. They are oil-based and come in 120 colors. They have square heads and round heads. The price is about 10 yuan. They are very hydrating and feel great to use. As a professional expression, there should be at least 60 colors, and the green series for landscape must be complete. Of course, the marker pen also depends on personal preference, but it is best to be oil-based.
2. Sketch.
The sketch stage mainly solves two problems: composition and tone. Composition is the basis for the success of a rendering. If you don’t pay attention to composition, you will find more and more problems halfway through the painting, which will greatly affect the mood of painting. , the final effect is naturally useless. At the composition stage, you need to pay attention to perspective, determine the subject, form the center of interest, the proportional relationship between objects, and the proportion of the scenery and the subject, etc. Some complex spaces even need to use CAD to draw out the perspective. Try to do it as much as possible. to accuracy.
Tonal exercises are quite necessary for beginners, as they can train their color sense and improve their overall concepts. Make a few copies of the sketched sketch (A5 is enough), and finish the coloring quickly, about 20 minutes for each picture. Each picture should be distinguished, either cold tone, warm tone, bright tone, or gray tone. Do not cut out. Details, pick out the most impressive one as a reference when making the final draft. After completing these two steps, you should be 70-80% sure of the final effect.
3. Original manuscript.
At this stage, there are not many skills to speak of. It is entirely a reflection of basic skills, how to distinguish confusing lines and form a pen and ink painting with clear priorities and strong interest. Usually start with the main body, use a 0.5 stylus pen to outline the contours, use the pen as smoothly as possible, and do it in one go. Do not repeatedly trace the lines, then use a 0.3 pen to draw the trees and characters in the foreground, and finally use a 0.1 pen to draw the distant view. Draw the front first, then the back, to avoid the intersection of the outlines of different objects. In this process, the light and dark tones are added to the edges, gradually forming a whole, with contrast in the foreground, strong contrast in the middle ground, and weak contrast in the background. The characters in the foreground should be accurately and vividly depicted, dynamically coordinated, and the characters in the background can basically be replaced by dots and faces. In the picture above, the tensile membrane is the main body, and the two trees on the right supplement the main body and play a role in balancing the picture. Together with several groups of characters and the wide water surface, they form a peaceful and vibrant residential area. landscape. If you are not sure about the light and dark tones, you can only do a small amount of characterization of the main part, and the rest can be done with markers. The expressiveness of markers is enough to dominate the picture.
4. Coloring.
Coloring is the most critical step. Put most of the color on the back of the sulfuric acid paper. This can reduce the chroma of the marker pen. Too bright colors may make the picture too "hot", which may cause a big loss. A large area of ??gray can make the rendering durable and durable. In addition, coloring on the back will not spread the ink lines of the original manuscript, causing the picture to be messy. For detailed cases, please refer to the essentials of hand-painted coloring
5. Adjustment.
This stage mainly makes some local modifications, unifies the tone, and deeply describes the texture of the object. This step requires the intervention of colored pencils. As a supplement to the markers, the modification of colored pencils usually does not take more than ten minutes, because the colored pencils do not adhere well to my favorite sulfuric acid paper, so I can only cover it with a thin layer, leaving too many drawings. It will make you feel greasy easily, which will affect the effect.
