Meitiansu in fish tank

Fish tank homestay was transformed from a farmhouse. Due to the development of local tourism, the owners hope to change the old and broken pattern. Designers Silent and Zhang Jianyong were invited to renovate, re-plan the space and create a brand-new homestay space.

architectural appearance

"Fish tank" originated from the homonym of the boss Yu Gang. He hopes that the guests can slow down, forget their troubles and enjoy the current swimming like a fish with a memory of only 7 seconds. The overall design of the hotel is divided by the moving line of fish swimming freely, which makes people experience the feeling of freely shuttling between different spaces.

The overall spatial planning is divided into functional landscapes of small areas. Through step-by-step design, the space of small areas becomes interesting and vivid. The outdoor leisure space is covered with white stone to separate the activity space from the living space. The wooden corridor with grating is full of rhythm, and the sun shines during the day, which can show different light and shadow.

The architectural design of fish tank is based on minimalism, eliminating redundant decoration, and the architectural lines are smooth, which is very beautiful in geometric space from any angle. The designer used the concept of "a round place" on the observation deck, sitting in a chair and looking through the square wall, there was a green bamboo forest in front of him, and the pool in front reflected the bamboo forest scenery into a beautiful landscape painting, as if having an interesting conversation with nature. Through the round door, you can see the tea garden in the distance, and at the same time, you can also lead to the restaurant and yard, which is beautiful and practical.

Specially set up outdoor bar, you can enjoy different flower fields all year round. Push the door into the reception hall of the fish tank. The hall is divided into two areas, the reception center and the sunny glass room.

The glass room carries a day's light and shadow, and the sinking surrounding space makes the atmosphere more intense. In winter, around the fireplace, holding the warm sun, drinking tea and chatting with friends, and experiencing a leisurely life.

The whole hall uses large-area floor-to-ceiling glass windows and glass doors to the extreme. Designers don't want the color of Shan Ye outside the door to be blocked by thick and cold walls, but they want to see everything in Shan Ye green, so they can take the mountain scenery into their arms even if they don't go out.

There is a large area of blank space and log furniture in the room, and the stairs, beds and TV cabinets with a strong sense of modeling decorate the space just right. Stairs criss-crossing and stairs with small windows are full of fun. Between the stairs, indoors and outdoors, it seems to be integrated, so every corner, every corridor and every platform has become a scenery that cannot be missed.

Simple and modern rooms, French windows and observation deck allow people to enjoy the outdoor scenery.

There are six rooms in the aquarium, named after fish, such as mackerel, sturgeon, salmon, whales, Kun and carp. Yu Gang, the host, hopes that guests from all over the country can swim happily and freely like small fish after entering this "aquarium" space. Friends who can't sleep in city of hope forget all their troubles as soon as they come here, and become a carefree fish with only seven seconds' memory.

By the bamboo forest on the terrace, have a party, drink cocktails and spend leisure time, so that you can feel the nightlife different from the city and enjoy the beautiful night view in the mountains.

Da Le Ye Zhi Gushe Boutique Su Min

Shilin ancient village belongs to the valley landform in eastern Zhejiang, with abundant sunshine and rain, diverse surface vegetation and high coverage. Persimmons, cherry blossoms, bamboo shoots and tea are important cash crops in the ancient village. Surrounded by mountains, the unique geographical location makes this 800-year-old ancient village even more mysterious. Ancient villages have been exploring a new way with their thick and interwoven heritage and texture, hoping to promote the development of their tourism through the completion of boutique homestays.

Architectural overview is natural architectural photography.

Natural architectural appearance, architectural photography

Da Le Gu Ye House Boutique B&B is located in Shilin Ancient Village, and its interior design is completed by DAS Laboratory. The terrain of the project is a typical alpine platform, surrounded by mountains and valleys, and the middle hills are flat. Overlooking the surrounding landscape, the unique geographical location makes the natural landscape in the site rich and diverse. The layout of the building complex is similar to the design method of "Acropolis", which ensures the safety of the internal activity space. The windows of 22 rooms all face the periphery, so that the natural landscape in the room faces the outside.

The architectural layout is similar to the Acropolis, and the design technique is natural architectural photography.

Courtyard shiran architectural photography

The dining room is the most complicated space in this project. This space includes functions such as gathering, dining, check-in and negotiation. It consists of three buildings with different heights, with a space of 10 m in the middle and 8 m floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides. Facing the lush vegetation and picturesque natural landscape, we hope to create a high-intensity collision between man-made and nature and an intuitive, subconscious and physical sense of balance through the physicality of materials. Create the same open space as the outside and provide an impressive rest place in an instant.

We believe that B&B, as a medium that separates vision, emotion and thought from our daily life, allows us to experience the texture of time through space and vision. We try our best to limit the design to the guest room, hoping to realize the integration of the natural part and the artificial part. This is our interpretation of the environment, places and owners, which is to provide guests with a simple and warm rest place.

03

Su Min, Tasha Dudo

"Slow life" is a brand-new way of life and philosophy. In a city far away from the hustle and bustle, a homestay full of Tasha Tudor is gestating and growing on Mogan Mountain in Huzhou. The founders are three girls from Deqing, China. They want to build a new concept of "Tasha Garden" in China, and specially invited designers Silent and Zhang Jianyong to build it. Approaching this garden, happiness fills every corner.

Tasha is mostly transformed from ordinary peasant houses, breaking the inherent regular structure and opening small windows on a large blank wall. According to local conditions, combined with the endless green organic farms around, green is reflected indoors through the design of large windows, which embodies life and ecology everywhere. "Without too many languages, everything becomes simple and not simple." Explain the designer's understanding of Tasha Duoduo.

The designer kept the original tile roof and beam, and the outer wall was painted with a layer of earth-adjusting paint, which was more gentle and quiet in the surrounding green.

Natural metaphor is often used as the starting point of design. A corner of the courtyard is decorated with a dry landscape and a rest area, and static braking is used to maximize the use of space. On the other side, the original banana leaves are planted, and the stepped seats are designed to rest here, and people and nature are companions, which is interesting. We often say that life needs a sense of ceremony, but in Tasha Dudu, we can appreciate another definition of ceremony, which is not solemn, but full of temperature and vitality.

Design of birdcage entrance door. Enlarging a small birdcage into real life is a perfect life of nature and humanity. A huge birdcage is like a device, leading distant guests into another world. When spring comes, the birdcage will be full of wild roses, and everything will be full of vitality and poetry.

Internal details

Stepping into the room, the space is divided into dynamic and static areas, and the original room on the first floor is opened and becomes a completely open space. And made a sunken design, focusing the space here, you can feel the warmth brought by the stove in winter, look at the extreme scenery in the distance through the arched glass, and enjoy a lazy and comfortable time. The interspersed design of walls and stoves enhances the interest of the space.

Sinking space

Public space near the courtyard

On the other side, you can see wooden tables and cushions, surrounded by plants, as if you were in a big forest without too much decoration. I hope that the interior is quiet and simple, and more is to enjoy the outdoor nature and create a Tasha Tudor-style free space surrounded by plants. The design of the room combines white walls with wooden materials to make the space natural and pure. With modern simple decoration and brass furniture embellishment, it reflects the low-key and elegant luxury and enhances the overall temperament of the room.

Luyin Xi Su Min

The project is located in da miao cun, Wenchang City, Hainan Province, with an area of 550. The design theme of the front yard is the ocean, that is, tidal whales enter the sea, and the design theme of the backyard is the forest, that is, the deer in the forest drink the stream.

Living room details

On the basis of the original two-bedroom layout, the backyard combines the dining room and the living room into one. Dining room chandeliers use tropical plants and dried flowers, and mural decorations such as deer carvings, green walls and parrots are also in line with the forest theme. The original old house had small windows and poor lighting, and the floor-to-ceiling windows in the backyard bedroom were partially rebuilt to enhance the occupancy experience.

guest room

There is an independent kitchen in the dining area, and the colorful skylights of the dining room symbolize the colorful and beautiful life of many ethnic minorities in Hainan. Courtyard design consists of water scenic area, rock greening area, water bar area, sunshade leisure area and children's bunker area. By borrowing scenery and combining the visual interpenetration of pink bougainvillea, the space is more flexible and warm. The use of mirror stainless steel, lake blue metal plate, crystal brick and U-shaped glass adds a sense of fashion to the old house.

Finally meet your boutique B&B.

The project is located on the scenic Ada Road, surrounded by mountains, and a small stream winds through a quaint village. In order to make it a wild luxury resort hotel in nature, how to fully tap and utilize natural resources and realize the ideal holiday feeling of building on the mountain and living by the water has been running through our design.

The whole courtyard is surrounded by mountains and waters, and the original stones and logs are taken naturally, and the red bricks and blue tiles are taken locally. There is no elegant temperament, but the pursuit of gentle and simple pleasure. As soon as you enter the gate, a big lawn full of ritual comes into view, blending with the unrestrained mountain scenery behind you, making you feel the throb of returning to the countryside.

The feelings of mountain residence on the edge of the city

On one side of the lawn is a sunken outdoor living room. Everyone sits around the campfire and talks and sings, creating a natural hospitality atmosphere. City parties and natural forests set each other off. There are not too many buildings, and the undulating outdoor space gives guests more imagination and creativity, allowing them to play freely.

Using the fruit trees in the present courtyard, experience farmland, listening to rain in spring, watching flowers in summer, collecting fruit in autumn and flying snow in winter are set up on the side near the guest room to create a real "retreat in the mountains" in the four seasons.

Using the existing fruit trees in the courtyard, the experience farmland was opened up on the side near the guest room.

Spatial transformation of mixed space-time

The unique field history has created unique spatial characteristics. The current housing is a supply and marketing cooperative left over from the 1980 s, and it is a gathering place for commerce and trade. There are many doors, exchanging needed goods and being very lively. Different from other homestead renovation projects in the north, there is a complete courtyard space and two rows of farmhouses, covering an area of 5,000 square meters. We don't want to rebuild the flat land, but to rebuild and expand it on this basis. The main structure of the building is rubble wall wood structure, and the newly added part is steel structure. Make use of the depth and height of existing rooms, remove the original partition walls, and expand the use area of each room as much as possible. In order to fully show the residential characteristics in the northern rural areas, the wooden beams and purlins of the old house were retained on the roof, but the structure was strengthened and the function was renovated. The structural part, usually the supporting function of the building foundation, has been preserved to the greatest extent in the design. The "skeleton" of the old times has become more tenacious in the new era, and the "behind-the-scenes hero" has become the "protagonist on the stage".

Reconstruction and expansion on the basis of the original house

Traditional houses are usually made of stone and wood. However, in modern times, primitive stones and logs have rarely appeared in buildings, but the feelings brought by stones and wood to modern people are still lingering. Raw stones, logs and tiles are made from local materials, giving up fine processing, and simple natural materials are matched with exquisite handmade furniture. Against the backdrop of the lights, there is no lack of exquisiteness and delicacy in the rough momentum.

The gable facade of the children's room was demolished while retaining the texture of the brick wall and decorated by artistic hollowing out. The whitewashing of individual colors will make the originally dull wall become vibrant and full of vitality. Specially designed attic beds and tent play areas enrich the experience and interest on the premise of satisfying children's living functions. Tatami room can accommodate two families or several friends for a holiday at the same time. The storage space is hidden in the wall, which expands the sense of space experience.

In the end, the building is no longer a country farmhouse, and the courtyard is not just an enclosure of space. Different materials create peace in the natural environment and become the "protagonists" in the spotlight. The clear traces left by time blur the experience of time and space, bringing the exquisiteness of modern life and the simplicity of natural agriculture and forestry to the guests at the same time, and gaining a sense of "life" ceremony in the rural areas of Shan Ye that can't be felt in the city.

Luo Qi Xi Tang Min Su Hotel

In recent years, the number of renovation projects in China has gradually increased, and the theme of the projects has gradually shifted from urban to rural areas. However, the villages we encounter are no longer villages in the traditional sense, but villages from the perspective of urban people, which are in line with the imagination of urban people. In such a big environment, B&B's architectural type has become an extremely convenient carrier for urban life to intervene in rural development, which satisfies the imagination of urban people on rural life. The core problem we need to face in this project is how to transform the original building into a garden for urban people to escape from urban life and create a "non-urban" experience from the perspective of urban people.

The project is located in Guojiagou, Jixian County, Tianjin. Its site is located in the center of Guojiagou village, with natural water surface in the north and south, mountains in the west and villages in the east. There is a large open space and a main road between the project site and the East Village, and the roads in the village are fan-shaped and finally converge to this open space. The existing buildings are single-story buildings, blue tile roofs and gray brick walls. We have respected the existing conditions to the maximum extent, and preserved or even highlighted the main structure and materials of the building. On this basis, we put in modern materials and shapes such as white square box of steel structure, glass curtain wall and wooden grating, realizing the balance and integration of the new and the old.

Have a bird's eye view of the sense of order and collage, and seek dialogue between the old and the new. In the public space area, we have made three treatments for the square and entrance: 1. Introduce still water surface to form different hydrophilic ways and activate public activities in the square. 2. The main facade is made of old and new materials, forming a rich collage effect. 3. Take the main entrance as a space and landscape framework for people to have a tea break and provide introductions. Atrium is a space with dual attributes. When the door and main entrance of the teahouse are closed, it is an inner court where parties can be held; When the door is opened, it is an inward extension of the entrance square. The back mountain is mainly landscape treatment, with terraced fields for people to rest and watch. The dry landscape is the transition between terraced fields and natural mountains, mainly to restore and preserve the natural landscape.

Reception hall

Through the semi-outdoor space of the outdoor corridor, we connect the buildings in series and transform the scattered single-family buildings into single buildings with close internal relations; By adding new walls or volumes, the outdoor spaces between the original public buildings and the lakeside are transformed into private spaces such as internal courtyards, patios and rooms. The process of entering each room is a series of garden spaces from public to semi-public to private. The original private central courtyard was transformed into a central public area, surrounded by public spaces such as tea room, lobby, main entrance and restaurant. This new courtyard space connects the square belonging to the villagers and the back hill, and has become a public center that residents and villagers can enjoy.

The back mountain outside the teahouse

Public areas include lobby, tea room and restaurant. Its main features are: 1. Transparent, indoor and outdoor integration. 2. Open a large space to accommodate public activities. 3. Difference, the three spaces form their own tonality. Semi-public space area is the middle zone connecting public space area and private space area, which is mainly manifested in some outdoor corridors and public courtyards, and it is also the part with the strongest characteristics of garden-like space, which is mainly reflected in five treatments: 1. Height difference treatment. 2. Opening treatment of the ceiling. 3. deal with the scene. 4. Frame scene processing. 5. Paving treatment. In the end, this area will form a stop-and-go and winding experience. The private space area is mainly composed of guest rooms and courtyards. The internal space of the existing building has the following problems: 1. The area is not big enough or too big. 2. The room type is too long and narrow. 3. The room type is monotonous. We deal with these problems through regional subdivision and differentiated room types.

guest room

The core of B&B hotel is that it has a courtyard, which makes the indoor and outdoor spatial relations more diverse. In this project, we designed five types of courtyards: 1. One way type. 2. Front and rear type. 3. single line. 4. Island type. 5. Three hospitals. In the end, although these rooms are close to each other, through the treatment of courtyard relationship, every household feels independent from nature. For the courtyard itself, we mainly do three treatments. The first is hydrophilic treatment: the whole courtyard is paved with anticorrosive wood as a rest platform, and the central pavilion on the lake is removed to restore the sense of openness of the water surface. The height difference is used to create a retreat and dispel the sense of steepness, and the static water surface is introduced into the courtyard to form an endless pool. Secondly, the subdivision of space: each courtyard has a landscape tree, the small courtyard is enriched with soft scenery and furniture, and the large courtyard is subdivided by placing light objects such as grids and awnings. Finally, in the facade treatment, we introduced a white grille or partition on the basis of the glass curtain wall with a strong sense of permeability, which dispelled the heavy feeling brought by the brick wall to the building and enriched the level of the facade from the volume and realism.
