After listening to teacher Jiang Lan's lecture on prose writing, I summed up my feelings.

What we are experiencing now is the gift of time; What you are tasting now will eventually become the preface of your dream.

I like this kind of writing, with beautiful artistic conception and profound truth, so I like prose. Prose sees the big from the small, writes about people and things, and understands life and all laws.

On May 23rd, we were lucky enough to invite Mr. Jiang Lan, a doctor of classical literature in China, to give a lecture on prose writing. I have benefited a lot myself, thanks to the prose teacher Bole Abin, thank you!

Before Mr. Jiang Lan gave a lecture, my understanding of prose was rather vague. I used to think that fragmentary memories, together with good language, were an essay. Now I find that writing good prose is far from as simple as I thought.

I want to talk about Mr. Jiang Lan's learning experience in prose class from three aspects: emotion, content focus and formal expression, for exchange and study.

Why do we like reading prose? Because prose is different from other styles, it doesn't pay attention to lyricism like poetry, performance like drama, plot and characterization like novels. Prose is about real life, and words are integrated into the author's truest feelings.

Teacher Jiang Lan said that the emotional expression of prose must be true, which is the biggest feature of prose and also the difficulty.

Where is the difficulty? As we all know, prose pays attention to artistic conception. How did the artistic conception come from?

Teacher Jiang Lan said that the artistic conception of poetry is made and the artistic conception of prose is written. The artistic conception should have a certain height, but it is not necessary to write about the feelings of home and country that show compassion for others. In fact, you can also write about life thinking and true feelings. Art comes from life. As long as our prose is pure and touching enough, it is higher than life. This kind of prose writes the artistic conception and is a good prose.

How to write about life and make prose touching? Dr. Jiang Lan gave us an example of Qiu Si, a prose by writer Shi Tiesheng.

(Teacher Jiang Lan's daily observation article contains the original text, and interested students can read class notes and essay creation | Intensive reading of Missing in Autumn)

Qiu Si is an essay written by Shi Tiesheng in memory of his dead mother, so why do we like reading it? Because it is touching. There is nothing fancy in Shi Tiesheng's prose. He only uses simple language to express the purest feelings, which is enough to capture the hearts of readers.

After his legs were paralyzed, Shi Tiesheng became furious. The flowers in Beihai are blooming, and his mother wants to take him to see them. Shi Tiesheng's reaction was to beat his legs and scream, and his mother's reaction was to cry and persuade him to "live well."

The chrysanthemums in Beihai are in bloom, and his mother begged to take him to see them. This time, Shi Tiesheng agreed, and his mother was overjoyed, happy as a child, and talked a lot. However, my mother went out and never came back.

It is autumn again, and my sister pushes Shi Tiesheng to Beihai to see chrysanthemums. I see chrysanthemums in my eyes, but I think of my dead mother in my heart. He remembered his mother's words. He's with his sister, and he's having a good time!

This essay has no gorgeous language, only the most sincere feelings, so these words can be so touching and make people feel goose bumps and want to cry!

True emotion builds a bridge of communication in people's hearts and makes the voice of emotion, which is the most attractive place of prose.

Some people's prose is not well written, not because they lack real life experience or sincere feelings, but because they can't express pure feelings through words.

Teacher Jiang Lan said that a really good prose form is inseparable, and the article always focuses on the main idea, which means that it needs enough concentration.

For example, people will encounter many things in their lives, even if they meditate for a quarter of an hour, many ideas will come up. We can't write everything in prose. So, how to choose materials? How to focus on making the theme more prominent?

First, only the most important clips are selected. In the essay Nostalgia in Autumn, Shi Tiesheng misses his mother. He only chose four scenes and three dialogues in two years, but he melted his memory of his mother in just 832 words. There is not a single sentence in this essay that is incomplete. Adding one sentence may feel redundant.

The most rare thing is that these short 832 words not only express the deep memory of the deceased mother, but also pin the author's blessing on the living: live well!

In fact, a good literary work, just like making a movie, is pieced together bit by bit without any redundant elements. When the audience sees different clips, they will connect them in their minds. This simplicity is very practical, which makes the film interact with the audience.

Therefore, if you want to write a good composition, you must deeply understand life, select the most important fragments, and rub emotions into the text.

Secondly, use the most refined language to describe, write scenes and express feelings. Generally speaking, it is not difficult to make one thing clear; The difficulty is to describe a thing clearly in the most concise language, and at the same time let the text have both connotation and aesthetic feeling.

Teacher Jiang Lan used a sentence from Love in Autumn as an example. "It's autumn again", that is to say, one year has passed, but Shi Tiesheng has not written all the details of this year or day into the article. Only four words, combined with context, can express a variety of meanings, which is a test of language ability.

Many excellent photographic works have very simple picture composition, and it is easy for the audience to grasp the key points. Similarly, if unnecessary words are removed, the focus will be more prominent, which is a minimalist beauty.

Therefore, prose should be focused enough, all plots should directly promote the main idea of the article, and all words should support the central idea.

Shi Tiesheng's Qiu Si doesn't have much formal content, but it doesn't mean that prose doesn't need form.

Jiang Xun, a famous painter and writer, said that literature has two parts, one is content and the other is prose. Prose is a literary genre, and it also needs to start from both content and form. The above two parts are about emotional expression and theme focus, which belong to the content. What should we pay attention to in form?

Teacher Jiang Lan borrowed an essay "Mountains and Rivers in Childhood" written by Jane's friend Yu Yu Yufei as an example.

Teacher Jiang Lan said that the article was well written at the beginning. The first sentence talked about the happiness of childhood, and the second sentence talked about the nostalgia for childhood now. The context is very clear and the language is concise and beautiful. Read carefully, combine long and short sentences and have a sense of rhythm. Words are like beating notes, and artistic conception naturally flows out.

Beautiful things, beautiful language and beautiful artistic conception can always make people read with relish, which is also a very attractive place for prose.

We can pursue formal beauty, but we must pay attention to the authenticity of language. Other people's sentences look beautiful, but if we simply copy them, it may be an imitation.

For photographers, a pair of eyes that can discover beauty is more important than skill. To write prose well, you should also be good at discovering the beauty in life, such as the layered beauty of color and the symmetrical beauty of shape. ...

Finally, Teacher Jiang Lan encouraged us not to worry if we can't write good articles sometimes. Because no effort can be accomplished overnight, long-term accumulation and deliberate practice are an indispensable part of success. It doesn't matter if you don't write well. Only by writing more and practicing more will we become better.

The above content is my summary after learning Jiang Lan's prose writing class. Please forgive me or correct me. Let's learn and communicate together and improve together.
