Seven points and skills of using tripod

Tripod is a very practical and common photographic accessory, but do you really know the correct use of tripod? A good tripod can certainly reduce the difficulty of the photographer's operation, but it also needs to be combined with the actual situation of the shooting scene. Only in this way can we protect our equipment while shooting sharp works.

1. Composition before putting the tripod.

It takes more time to build a tripod than to compose music. Look at the surrounding environment first, carefully compose the composition and then choose the "foothold". If you put a tripod first, and then make a composition, it means that you have to run around with a set of equipment as high as a person, which is very dangerous and will waste a lot of precious time.

2. shoot an object at the other side with one leg.

This is easily overlooked by many novice tripod users. The tripod legs point to the subject, which means that you can have enough space station on the back of the fuselage, which is convenient for framing and operation, and it is not easy to trip and prevent the accident of leaning forward and overturning.

3. Keep the central axis perpendicular to the ground.

Stability is the primary task of tripod. The easiest way to ensure that the camera weight is evenly distributed on the three legs is to keep the central axis perpendicular to the ground. Of course, many booths have been equipped with level meters. If not, you might as well have one, which is not expensive.

4. Try to avoid extending the central axis.

Well, the central axis can indeed extend the height of the tripod, but it is best to keep the central axis in a contracted state unless it is necessary. The elongated central axis makes the center of gravity of the camera rise, and the corresponding stability decreases.

Step 5 use an l-shaped bracket

Perhaps many people have never heard of the L-shaped bracket, and even if they have, they think the table can play a very good role in vertical shooting. The picture above shows the difference between the L-shaped bracket of the common table and the vertical racket. Obviously, the L-shaped bracket can keep the center of gravity of the camera consistent with the tripod.

6. Use the lens holder ring

Some telephoto lenses are equipped with tripod rings, but some users are still used to putting their cameras on tripod heads. Due to the heavy weight of telephoto lens, the center of gravity of the whole set of equipment moves forward after being installed on the fuselage, and the force on the bayonet increases sharply, which is in danger of breaking with a little force. Since the manufacturer has a tripod ring, let's use it.

7. Heavy hook

Some supports have good bearing capacity. Generally, there is a heavy hook at the bottom of the intermediate shaft. Don't underestimate this design without high-tech content. In windy weather, hanging some heavy objects on the hook and shifting the center of gravity can effectively improve the stability of the tripod.
