China 1000 Mannequin Photography

20 12 In the spring auction in Rove City, Taiwan Province Province, a color ink painting "Four Beauty after Bathing" by a female painter of the Republic of China was sold at a high price of 1 13732 USD. The highest auction record of this female painter was "Self-portrait" taken at Christie's in Hong Kong in 2005, and the transaction price was 10265433.

During the Republic of China, there were many well-known male painters and few female painters, and this female painter actually came out of a brothel, which can be said to be unprecedented. She is the prototype of the movie "Painting the Soul" Pan, and her life story is as legendary as her paintings.

0 1

1895, Pan was born in Yangzhou, Jiangsu. It is a place full of fireworks and literati. Pan's family was poor, and his parents died when he was a child. At the age of eight, she had to live with her uncle. Her uncle is a rogue, eating, drinking, whoring and gambling every day, and fooling around. She was tortured there for five years.

When Pan/Kloc-was 0/3 years old, her uncle was in debt and even sold her into a brothel. Pan Yuliang looks plain, has a wide mouth and a single eyelid, and develops late. /kloc-at the age of 0/3, she still looks like a malnourished child. The procuress wouldn't let her take guests right away, so she went to the kitchen to do some rough work first and then made plans later.

Pan Yuliang tried to jump out of the fire pit, but he tried to escape several times, only to be found beaten in a brothel. The pimp subdued the runaway girl and did a bad thing: she caught a cat and put it in the girl's trouser leg, then tied the trouser leg and severely beat the cat inside. The cat scratched everywhere when it was in a hurry, and most girls were afraid to run away again.

At that time, there were two ways to leave the brothel: one was to save money and then redeem yourself; The second is to expect someone to save her. Fate opened a lucky door for Pan. Soon, the first noble person in her life appeared.

In the brothel, Pan didn't escape, but he also learned the kung fu of playing the piano and singing from the master on weekdays. 19 13 years, the new salt governor Pan Zanhua took office in Wuhu, and the local salt merchants invited a group of prostitutes to curry favor with him. Pan Yuliang is one of many girls who sing a minor.

Pan Zanhua is a young man with new thinking and doesn't like the old routine in officialdom. He just takes part in this kind of activity as a kind of social entertainment, but he doesn't care much. It happened that Pan uncharacteristically sang the black-headed aria in Beijing Opera, which attracted Pan Zanhua's attention, and he couldn't help but praise a few words.

The salt merchant acted according to circumstances, and a car sent Pan to Pan Fu, ready to buy Pan Zanhua with a honey trap. The next day, Pan Zanhua woke up and was surprised to see Pan. Pan knew this was the only chance, so he knelt down and begged Pan Zanhua not to send her back, and cried to him about what had happened to him.

Pan Zanhua was moved by sympathy and decided to redeem Pan. Pan knelt down again and expressed his willingness to serve Pan Zanhua all his life. Because Pan Zanhua got married in his hometown, if Pan marries him, he can only be a concubine. Pan said he didn't care.

As a maid, they served everywhere, but they didn't expect to get along well. The two of them became very intimate for a long time. Pan Zanhua found that Pan Zanhua was kind and sincere, while Pan found that Pan Zanhua was an honest official, and he usually had no bad hobbies, that is, painting and calligraphy.

Moreover, Pan Zanhua is tall and elegant. In his later years, he grew a long beard and was awarded the title of bearded man, which made Pan admire him very much.

A year later, Pan Zanhua officially married Pan as his concubine, and Chen Duxiu, a celebrity, was the witness.

Pan Zanhua stumbled upon Pan's interest in painting, and he was quite talented. Pan Zanhua was broad-minded and didn't have the old-school idea that "a woman without talent is virtue", so he took out a large sum of money to ask a teacher to teach Pan painting, and sent Pan Yi to 19 18 to take an examination of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts (later changed to Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts). Unexpectedly, Pan was admitted as the first sketch.

In the following years, Pan absorbed painting knowledge like a sponge. He studied under the famous painters Zhu Qizhan and Wang Jiyuan at that time, and his painting level advanced by leaps and bounds. Pan is generous and often goes out to sketch with his male classmates. Over time, some rumors reached Pan Zanhua's ears, and he didn't care, thinking it was normal communication.

During his study, Pan accepted what people call "body painting". 19 17, Teacher Pan and great painter Liu Haisu held an exhibition of human body paintings in Shanghai Art Institute, which caused an uproar in the society. Some people criticized Liu Haisu as an "art traitor".

1926, the Beiyang government officially banned the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts from sketching human bodies, and Sun also ordered Liu Haisu to be wanted and the model was dissolved. Pan lost the chance to learn, but she didn't give up, and then she made a very bold move.

In order to draw a human body, Pan went to the women's bathroom to take pictures of the woman who came to take a bath. Once, she was caught without waiting for her to draw a few strokes. A group of women gathered around and found Luo's body all over the paper, so she was so angry that she wanted to beat Pan. Fortunately, an old lady begged and several women tore the drawing paper to pieces. Pan also ran away with her head and never dared to take pictures in the bathroom again.

Pan also highlighted his whimsy, stripped off his clothes and painted himself, and completed several self-portraits of human bodies. Only to be discovered by Pan Zanhua, he flew into a rage. At that time, no man could accept that his wife's figure painting appeared in front of others, even if his thoughts were trendy.

Because of this incident, there was a gap between husband and wife, and Pan went to study in France at the suggestion of his teacher Liu Haisu.

1923, Pan was admitted to the National Academy of Fine Arts in Paris and studied painting with Yang Buffalo and Simon.

1925, Pan graduated with honors, and then studied oil painting and sculpture at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Italy.

1926, Pan's works won the gold medal in Rome International Art Exhibition, breaking the record that no China people won the prize in the history of the Academy.

Pan combined western painting with elements of China, and formed his own unique works. It is her unique combination of Chinese and western paintings that made her the most representative female artist in the early 20th century.

1928, Pan returned to China, and the following year he was appointed as the head of the western painting department of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts. The following year, Xu Beihong, a senior in the Art Department of Nanjing Central University, the highest art institution in China, hired her as a professor of oil painting, and the next decade was the golden age of her works.

However, Pan's brothel experience brought her a lot of unfair treatment. On 1932, Pan held her first solo exhibition. One of the most famous paintings, Strong Man, shows a muscular man trying to move a huge rock, and the fragile flowers below show smiling faces. This painting was ordered by an official at the price of 1000 yuan. Unexpectedly, after the exhibition, the painting was finished.

A female classmate knew what happened to Pan and went to the headmaster to ask for quitting school. The name is: "swear not to be in the same school as Ji". There are also some colleagues whispering behind their backs: "The phoenix is dead, and the pheasant is called overlord." She was so ugly that a male teacher who had a problem with Pan called her "Biao" to her face.

Others suspect that Pan hired a "gunman" in her paintings, instead of herself, on the grounds that it is impossible for a woman to draw such a good work. Pan painted on the spot when he held the fourth art exhibition in Shanghai, which broke the rumor and left reporters speechless.

Pan's career is successful, but her feelings have never been very good. Because Pan was infertile, she asked Pan Zanhua to bring the eldest lady's son to Shanghai to raise him. Pan Zanhua's eldest wife missed her son and came to Shanghai from her hometown to live with them. This big lady has never had a good eye for Pan Liangyu who came out of the brothel, and she has to praise her everywhere.

As soon as the first lady arrived at her home in Shanghai, she gave Pan a military salute and asked her to kneel down to pour tea and perform old-fashioned etiquette. When we first met, Pan forbeared, but the first lady asked her to salute every holiday and said to her in front of her family, "Don't think that being a professor will make you equal with me. I am the wife that Pan Jiaming wants to marry. "

However, Pan and Pan, the son of the first wife, have deep feelings. Pan was seriously ill 12 years old, and it was Pan who took care of him for a week before pulling him back from the gate of hell. After going abroad, Pan called each other "Dear Mom" and "Mouer". It is said that Pan later liked to draw cows because their cries were homophonic with "a", which shows that Pan's concern for Pan really made us understand what it means to "treat them as our own".

1937, War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression broke out in an all-round way, and Pan Zanhua strongly supported and promoted the war of resistance in many ways. The situation was in chaos, so Pan had to live with the first lady, and the contradiction between the two sides broke out again. At this time, Pan decided to go abroad again, but he didn't expect to say goodbye to Pan Zanhua.

Since then, Pan Zanhua has been abroad for 40 years, selling paintings for a living. She also sent the money from selling paintings back to China to support the cause of the Anti-Japanese War, and created a painting called "Holocaust" to expose the crimes of Japanese fascists.

In these forty years, Wang Shouyi, the second person Pan Zansheng hit, appeared. Wang Shouyi went to Paris to work and study in his early years. He digs coal, washes dishes and repairs cars. Later, he saved a sum of money and opened a China restaurant called Oriental Hotel in the suburbs of Paris.

They met in a Chinese restaurant. At that time when World War II broke out, few people bought Pan's paintings. She often paints in the dark basement with an empty stomach for three days. Hearing about Pan's deeds, he brought some food to visit and helped Pan hold an art exhibition.

Pan also understands her intention, but she admits that she got married in China and will return to China one day. Wang Shouyi can only keep this love in his heart, and they have been bosom friends ever since.

06

At home, after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Pan Zanhua's wife Yuan Pei died, and Pan Zanhua also returned to his hometown of Tongcheng as a middle school teacher. Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of civil war, Pan's trip to China was unsuccessful until Pan Zanhua's death, and the two were not finally reunited.

After Pan Zanhua died in 1959, Pan also lost the motivation to return to China. She calls herself "three childless women": no love, no foreign nationality and no attachment to gallery auctions. She kills time by painting in the studio every day.

Because Pan's paintings are not recognized by mainstream European art circles, her life is very difficult and she can only live on the relief provided by her friends and the French government.

1977, Pan died in France. Before she died, she gave her friends three last wishes: First, put on a cheongsam and be buried as a China woman; Second, give the necklace and pocket watch that Pan Zanhua gave her to the descendants of Pan Shi; Third, bring her works back to the motherland.

Friends sent more than 4,000 of her works to the Chinese Embassy in France. 1984, Pan's paintings returned to China with her soul.
