What are the basic knowledge of composition?
There are four basic elements in composition, namely the main body, the accompanying body, the foreground and the background.
1. Subject.
The subject is what the photographer wants to express. Whether a photo is good or bad depends first on whether the subject of the photo is clear. It is best to allow the audience to spot the subject at a glance.
2. Accompanying the body.
The companion is used to set off the main subject in the photo and also plays a role in balancing the picture. If the subject is a red flower, then the green leaves will be the companion. Only the subject in the picture will appear empty and out of balance. Of course, to show that a person is beautiful, placing an ugly person next to him can highlight his beauty.
3. Prospects.
The foreground of photography has three main functions: increasing the layering of the picture, guiding the audience's sight, and highlighting the subject.
When taking landscape photos, adding the ground foreground or using nearby branches to form a framed foreground can significantly increase the layering of the picture and lengthen the depth of the picture.
4. Background.
The background can describe the characteristics of the environment. When shooting humanistic photography themes, the background plays an important role in highlighting the main subject of the picture. When taking travel photos, you generally need to let the scenery appear in the picture to explain the shooting location and environmental characteristics. Generally, the people in the photo are the subject and the scenery is the background.
Key points of composition:
The position of the subject in the picture is so important, so it is necessary to highlight the subject as much as possible.
The most common way is to use shallow depth of field to blur the background, simplify the picture effect, and highlight the subject. For specific operations, you can choose to open a wide aperture and shoot close to get a good blur effect. If conditions permit, it is also ok to use a telephoto lens.
You can also use contrast to achieve the purpose of highlighting the subject. For example, color contrast, a little red among the green leaves, highlighting the flowers; such as light and dark contrast, the characters under the spotlight on the stage; size contrast, using the height of the person to express the tallness of the building.
