China Communication University is a national key construction university under the "2 1 1 Project" directly under the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor was 1954, a training course for technicians of the Central Broadcasting Bureau. 1April, 959, with the approval of the State Council, the school was upgraded to Beijing Broadcasting Institute. In August, 2004, Beijing Broadcasting Institute was renamed China Communication University. The school is located by the ancient canal in the east of China. The campus covers an area of 463,600 square meters with a total construction area of 377 1 1,000 square meters. The motto of China Communication University is: Morality, Speciality, Knowledge and Competition.
