Liaocheng University is located in Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, a national historical and cultural city with the reputation of "Jiangbei Watertown and Ancient Capital of Canal". It is the first batch of selected institutions in the national education and training plan for outstanding talents in agriculture and forestry and the national training plan of the Ministry of Education. It is the only comprehensive university in Luxi-the first batch of provincial-level key universities built by Shandong Province's "Shandong Famous School Project", and is known as "the highest institution in Luxi". The school originated from Shandong Normal University and was established in 1950. 1970 Shandong Normal University moved to Liaocheng to run a school. 1974, most departments moved back to Jinan.
