70 years of creative photography

At 8 pm on February 4th, the 72-year-old man held another visual feast in the Bird's Nest.

The Beijing Winter Olympics attracted worldwide attention. This is the first time in the history of China to host the Winter Olympics. The classical romance belonging to China people was properly handled by Zhang Yimou, who was ingenious and applauded without being a hit.

Before 14, this man and his team were reviled. He bluntly said that the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games drove everyone crazy.

At that time, he had completed the commercial transformation of the director's route, won many nominations for Oscar and Golden Globe Award, and set a new domestic box office record with a masterpiece.

The audience believed in Zhang Yimou's talent in making movies, but they also questioned his ability to do the Olympics. Faced with this heavy responsibility, he knew it was a tough battle.

"You can make many movies in your life, but you only have one Olympic Games in your life."

This sentence is quite cross the rubicon, and it is a determination to only succeed and not fail.

Later that night, China's 5,000-year-old civilization leapt to the top of the picture, and everyone believed it.

Zhang Yimou, 1950 was born in Xi, Shaanxi Province on April 2, with type A blood. His resolute character is a little more calm and stubborn.

After finishing primary school and junior high school in Ann, Zhang Yimou went to a rural area in Ganxian to cut in line, farm and work, and honed his time. Later, he was arranged by his family to work in a cotton textile factory and worked there for eight years.

As a teenager, Zhang Yimou was unable to attend many meetings because of his family, and gradually became quiet and lonely. This original inferiority complex was fermented in his character. Later, Zhang Yimou became more calm and taciturn. He kept a low profile as much as possible.

Ordinary and boring factory life is like a pool of stagnant water, which seems to be the end of life that can only be seen at a glance. In the boring and heavy work, his wish at that time was to enter the propaganda department of the factory and become an officer.

That is, under such circumstances, Zhang Yimou found his own unique way to vent his emotions. In the factory, he scrimped and saved, bought the most popular Seagull camera at present, and took pictures of his workmates in his spare time.

Photography seems to be his spiritual pillar, shooting records and dealing with innovation. His works have been well received by people around him, and those imaginative ghost horse ideas have also grown in my heart.

Zhang Yimou took his camera and worked and lived in the factory as usual. No one expected that he would rewrite the history of China movies in the near future.

The workers appreciated and praised Zhang Yimou's shooting skills, so he was strongly recommended to apply for the Film Academy. 1978 Zhang Yimou, who has just resumed the college entrance examination and has been locked in the noisy world of the workshop lathe for a long time, decided to jump out of the comfort zone and have a look at the outside world.

Zhang Yimou was 27 when he came to the Film Academy to apply for the photography department. He is an over-age college student and doesn't meet the admission requirements of the Film Academy at all. Later, after many twists and turns, the Minister of Culture personally approved the over-age student who jumped the queue as a worker to enter school.

Zhang Yimou's life started from this pervert.

1984, Zhang Yimou won the China Film Excellent Photography Award for his unique spiritual lens design because of his participation in the film One and Eight, and also gained some fame in the industry.

This film was listed as the pioneering work of the "fifth generation" film, and later Zhang Yimou became one of the representatives of the "fifth generation directors".

From the first generation of silent films to the sixth generation of multicultural films in China, the changes of society, culture, times and technology have made films full of vitality.

When I was a director, I always laughed and said whether the seventh generation director would be born among a group of people like us. Only after these years, it seems that few people are doing things related to movies. As for the seventh generation, it is just a new film consciousness.

Some people burn their passion for their dreams, while others just burn their dreams for their passion. What is right and wrong is indisputable.

As the representatives of the fifth generation directors, Zhang Yimou, Chen Kaige, Tian Zhuangzhuang and other young directors who graduated from Nortel in the 1980s were almost all involved in the turbulent torrent of the times in their youth.

Some have been soldiers, and some have experienced ten years of catastrophe, so we can see very strong subjective will and symbolic significance in their works. Those ordinary and bumpy life experiences are integrated into every shot and every frame, giving them mysterious and heavy quality.

Everyone knows "Red Sorghum", except that he is an excellent director, but he didn't know that he won three best actors in 1986 with an "Old Well". This is his first time to film as a protagonist.

The following year, Red Sorghum won the Golden Bear Award at the first international film festival in China. He successfully completed his career transformation from photography to actor to director.

Zhang Yimou, a native of Shaanxi, has the composure and stubbornness of the northwest people in his bones. Every time he was interviewed, Zhang Yimou seemed a little silent, just like he was a human being. He admits that he is a very low-key person, who has always been withdrawn, easy-going and sincere, but Zhang Yimou in film creation is like a different picture.

When he was a photographer in his early days, "Yellow Land" made his shooting expression very subjective, and the large and strong color blocks continued to the works he directed later.

From Red Sorghum to Raise the Red Lantern, from My Mom and Dad to Hero, the use of color has become an unavoidable element in Zhang Yimou's films. These works are in sharp contrast with Zhang Yimou's personality. The more restrained he lives, the more presumptuous his image expression becomes.

He said, I like to go to extremes in the form of film expression, try my best to exaggerate and try my best to make this form to the extreme.

So there were golden rooster award, Golden Lion, Silver Lion and Golden Bear Awards, and China movie surprises again and again.

From 65438 to 0987, Zhang Yimou directed his first work at the age of 37.

As one of the few high-yield directors in China, Zhang Yimou strictly controls the quality of his works while his works are published almost every year. Of course, there are also many films with different audiences and serious polarization.

Before transforming into a commercial director, Zhang Yimou's films took society, women and contradictions as their themes, and each character was vividly portrayed in three dimensions. During the period of directing literary films, Zhang Yimou's tacit cooperation with Gong Li, The Queen's Mistress, produced excellent works such as Red Sorghum, Ju Dou, Alive, Shake and Shake to the Waipo Bridge.

During his work, Zhang Yimou witnessed the transformation of China from a planned economy to a market economy. China's films have undergone earth-shaking changes, and he has adapted to the changes and become a commercial director.

In 2002, a movie "Hero" entered the foreign box office list, setting a global box office record for China films, and China films also went to the world, but in the following years, this film was rejected as a bad film.

In 2006, he was appointed as the general director of the Olympic Games. When receiving the letter of appointment, Zhang Yimou was still filming "Golden Flower in the City", and time was pressing. In order to fight this battle well, Xiying went all out for three years. When preparing for the Beijing Olympic Games, Zhang Yimou was 56 years old.

Brainstorm with young people, exchange ideas, always be energetic and clear-headed, constantly overthrow and polish. The performance of "movable type printing" by 6,000 people alone made Chen Danqing feel crazy at that time. But the old schemer on the side is radiant, and it is not a problem to play with the team for more than ten hours. If you give up a plan, you will rebuild a plan. The spirit of not giving up until you reach your goal also makes this body that doesn't use the years shine because of diligence.

Apart from the Olympic Games, the G20 Summit in Hangzhou, the 70th anniversary party of the founding of New China, large-scale operas, ballets and a series of cultural tourism videos, various "sideline activities" let the audience see the unique artistic talent of the 70-year-old artist.

Artistic creation needs not only talent, but also enthusiasm and never-ending.

Just like this sentence, it is never age but fear that can defeat me.

If you can't succeed at twenty, you can succeed at thirty.

If you can't succeed at thirty, you will succeed at forty.

If you can't succeed at forty, you will succeed at fifty.

If you don't succeed at the age of fifty, you will succeed one day.

Great men are not afraid of being late.
