The most "wild" zoo in memory —— Travel Notes of Guangzhou Changlong Wildlife World

When I returned to China this time, I took my daughter to Guangzhou Changlong Wildlife World. What a big surprise! Since childhood, I have been to various zoos, including those around Sydney, all with their own characteristics. But to say which comprehensive evaluation is the best, it undoubtedly belongs to Guangzhou Changlong Wildlife World! When I saw a small group of zebras chasing, frolicking and even fighting on the wide grass, I thought: I must write a travel note for it when I come back, and share the good things so that more children can have a chance to play.

I personally have the highest comprehensive evaluation of it, and the main reasons are as follows:

First, the species and number of animals here are easily crushed by other zoos. There are only one or two large rare animals in other zoos, and they flock here.

Second, it covers a huge area, the living environment of animals is great, the activity space is large, and it is close to nature, mostly in the form of free-range.

Third, a large number of staff and services are in place. Each animal exhibition area has a full-time commentator to provide explanation service at any time, and any questions can be answered professionally. Dining, shopping, and guides everywhere make the garden very comfortable.

Fourthly, many interesting popular science education programs have been set up, such as: overnight panda house, little nurse, animal school and so on.

In fact, there are four parks and a circus in the whole Changlong tourist resort. It will be an unforgettable trip to take the children to Guangzhou for a few days and choose a few parks to play with. Because time is tight, I only saw the zoo this time, and I will talk about the rest next time.

The four parks and circus are: Chimelong Wildlife World, Chimelong Bird Park, Chimelong Happy World (mainly with mobile amusement facilities), Chimelong Water Park (with the largest number of aquatic equipment in the world) and Chimelong International Circus (which starts every night 19:30).

Official website, Changlong Tourist Resort (/index.shtml), you can find all relevant information.

General situation of zoo:

Guangzhou Chimelong Wildlife World (formerly Guangzhou Xiangjiang Wildlife World), located in Panyu District, Guangzhou, covers an area of more than 2,000 mu, and is the largest and most internationalized wildlife park in China.

There are more than 0/0 giant panda/Kloc-0, 50 koalas (exclusively exhibited in Chinese mainland), more than 0/50 white tigers/Kloc-0 (the largest in the world), 23 Asian elephants, 20,000 rare animals of more than 500 species, such as African black rhinoceros, Sierra Leonean Japanese hippopotamus, Malaysian Malay tapir and anteater. Zebra, panda, wildebeest, giraffe, sika deer, Asian black bear, macaque, Asian elephant, African lion, tiger and other animals have formed a huge population of dozens or even hundreds, which is rare in zoos all over the world. Have the only surviving giant panda triplets in the world. The big movies "Where is Dad Going" and "Wonderful Friends" were both shot here.

Tickets:

It's better to book tickets in advance, which is cheaper than buying them on site. What Chimelong official website, Taobao's Flying Pig, Tuniu, Mama Donkey, Public Comment, Meituan, Qunar, Ctrip, and WeChat official account all compare prices.

The fare is not cheap, but I really think it's worth it. Even if I pay more, I am willing to support them. After all, it is certain that so many happy animals, such a good living environment and so many staff members cost a lot. I have read the introduction before, and it takes a lot of money to raise a large animal like a tiger. In addition, there are 150 white tigers in Chimelong, and other large animals are also kept in groups.

Adult 250 yuan, children with a height of 1 to 1.5m, elderly people over 65 125 yuan, and children with a height of 1 m are free of charge (only one adult with a full ticket is allowed). Vehicles entering the self-driving area will be charged 250 yuan/vehicle. The above is the usual price, which fluctuates slightly on holidays.

Transportation:

Guangzhou Metro Line 3 runs through and get off at Hanxi Changlong Station. Get off the subway, cross the road from the overpass, and there is a free bus to the south gate of the zoo. There is also a free shuttle bus between the south gate and the north gate.

Time:

It is open all year round, with the park at 09:00- 18:30, the pedestrian zone at 9:30- 18:30, go on road trip time 10:00- 16:30, and the train ride time10. The climate in Guangzhou is very suitable for running a zoo. It is green all year round and looks very comfortable. However, it is too hot in summer in Guangzhou, so it is inevitable to take an outdoor walk when playing in the zoo, so it is recommended to avoid summer.

Accommodation:

Chimelong Resort has its own hotels, one is Chimelong Hotel and the other is Chimelong Panda Hotel. If the budget is generous, living here has several advantages: there are discounts and some VIP privileges for buying tickets in hotels; There are often free shuttle buses; The most attractive thing is that there are different theme rooms, where you can see white tigers and birds.

There is a hotel featuring animals in Canberra, Australia. There is a glass wall between the room and the animals, and giraffes can be fed on the balcony. I tried several times, but I was scared off by the high price. In contrast, the price here in Changlong is very cheap after being converted into Australian dollars. You can try it if you are interested.

If you want to be economical, you can stay near wanda plaza, or there are some express hotels outside the north gate of the zoo. It's all convenient.

Diet:

You are not allowed to bring food into the park, but you can bring water. There are several theme restaurants in it. It's just more expensive. I saw someone on the internet saying that stealing vegetables was not found. They also shared how to avoid inspection and bring food into the garden. I think safety and health are the most important when traveling abroad, especially in a foreign land, which is convenient.

Tour route:

If you don't do your homework in advance, you will be a little confused. The zoo is very big. For fun, the path is designed with seven turns and eight bends, and there is no map. So, remember to take a free map at the door.

The whole zoo is divided into two parts: the sightseeing area by car and the walking area;

1. Self-driving in tourist area: There are two ways to play. First, take the free train, the whole journey takes about 40 minutes, accompanied by staff, which is very suitable for families with children. Not only can they learn knowledge, but taking the train itself is an interesting experience. It is recommended to sit on the right, there are many animals. The other is self-driving and sightseeing in your own car. The advantage of this way is that you can master the rhythm by yourself, stop and take pictures at any time when you see your favorite animal, and watch it as long as you want. Of course, you need to buy a ticket (250 yuan/car on weekdays), and the number of cars entering the park every day in the self-driving area is limited. If it is a holiday, you'd better arrive early.

The tourist area has the following exhibition areas: Australian forest, American jungle, West Asian desert, South Asian rainforest, European mountain, wild zone, Asian forest, South African plateau and East African grassland.

2. Pedestrian area: As the name implies, it is a walking tour. It consists of the mystery of the golden snake, the fairy tale of Jurassic forest and rainforest, Baihu Mountain, animal kindergarten, koala garden, giant panda center, Asian elephant garden, African tribe, Huaguoshan, South America kingdom, Amazon rainforest, Swan Lake ape kingdom, etc. And a children's world with free rides.

There are animal performances with different themes in the park. If you want to see them, you should pay attention to the time of each performance. When you enter the park, you'd better write down the performance time you want to see, and then plan the route by looking at the map.

Animal performances include: Huaguoshan Theater, Hippo Theater, Elephant Theater, White Tiger Show, Asian Forest Animal Show and so on. The performance time always changes. We'll see when we go. We are pressed for time this time. Instead of going to the show, we took two small trains and two cable cars. To be honest, if you want to see all the performances and animals, one day is not enough, because it is inevitable to eat, take photos and go shopping halfway, and you will spend some time on children's amusement facilities. So I had to give up.

The zoo has two doors, the south gate and the north gate. The pedestrian area is near the south gate, and the bus tour area is near the north gate. Those who want to take the small train first can enter from the north gate. If you want to take a walk first and then take a small train for sightseeing when you are tired, you can enter from the south gate. Another thing to consider is that animal performances are mostly on the side near the south gate. Which door to enter at last depends on the comprehensive measure of your arrival time.

Let's follow the photos to see the details.

We took a small train twice. Our experience is that animals are more active at night. The picture below was taken on the last bus. Giraffes will rudely walk into the driveway and approach tourists. They were all far away when they came by train during the day.

The small train without windows runs slowly, listening to the explanation of the staff and looking at the lions, white tigers, black bears and other beasts not far away. How novel! Because of the unique design, there is no fence here, and the trench designed according to the limit jumping distance of animals separates the lanes. This not only ensures safety, but also has no fence to block the line of sight.

The cable car is also free. Looking down from the air, the most pleasing thing is the "East African Prairie". The terrain here is open and the view is good. You can see groups of giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, wildebeests and so on.

On the cable car at night, I saw a small group of zebras chasing each other, and two of them were still fighting, which was very interesting. This makes me feel that the animals living here are really happy, and human beings are trying to create a living environment close to nature for them. Compared with those zoos whose concrete floor is as narrow as a cage, it is great here.

Looking at kangaroos in Australia from the air, their lazy posture is too presumptuous, haha.

The bottom of the cable car is all glass. Dare to try, but every other one will have a glass bottom.

This is the first time my daughter has seen a national treasure panda. So cute! The following are the only giant panda triplets left in the world, which are introduced in detail.

Next, what is the white thing that the giant panda uses as a bed? Can you guess? Sell a pass, and the article finally reveals the answer.

The giant panda really keeps eating. No way, the nutrition of bamboo is really not enough to support their huge bodies, and they can only win by quantity. This is similar to koalas, which conserve energy by sleeping for a long time.

My sister really wants to see mandrills often mentioned in ancient books and describe their scary faces. The mandrill in the picture below is the king of the whole community, male, the most burly, with the demeanor of a thinker, always sitting alone in the corner, staring at the water, lost in thought, which is cool.

Here, we happened to witness the tense confrontation between the two species. In the picture below, the parents of the black swan are looking for food with their young babies, while a group of mandrills on the shore have been staring at them, wary of "aliens" invading their territory. A bold young mandrill rushed down and scared the swan family. The little swan was frightened, but its parents chickened out. They immediately put away their elegant posture, raised their feathers all over, and hardened their necks to make an attack posture. The reckless mandrill retreated quickly. I especially like this scene. The nature of animals is revealed here. This is the real life.

Flamingos are also very interesting. The commentator said that April is the best time to watch flamingos every year, because that is their courtship and breeding period. All flamingos can dance in groups, and their movements are very consistent. It is spectacular to think about it. After finding a mate, they will collectively nest and lay eggs on the other side. Look, their living environment is very good.

There are several theme restaurants in the park, and the environment is very good. Of course, try to come on non-public holidays. There are many people, and even the best environment is useless. We sat outside on purpose, eating and watching. Sister's finger is a monkey show, not a real monkey. Oh, in a tree in Little Square.

Next, you can spend money to buy forage for the elephants.

This is the first time I have seen the legendary crane with the bamboo forest as the background. Too emotional.

Giraffes are very popular in any zoo. After all, people are good-looking and in good shape. Let's end with a picture of a giraffe. The day I went there was cloudy, so the photos were not very nice. If there is an opportunity, you'd better go and see for yourself and feel the colorful life.

Finally, unveil the mystery before. The white thing that giant pandas use as beds is: huge ice cubes. Giant pandas are afraid of heat, and the zoo has placed large ice cubes everywhere in the panda area, which can be said to be thoughtful.
