Naked inspection related reports
-People's Daily Life Times
In April this year, Chen Shaohua of Guangzhou CPPCC made the word "naked inspection" attract wide attention from the society. He said that the vast majority of hospitals have no protective measures when X-rays are given to patients, and according to the research of the International Commission on Radiation Protection, in a city with a population of10 million, about 350 people may be induced by X-rays every year to have cancer, leukemia or other hereditary diseases. Moreover, the Ministry of Health has clearly stipulated that doctors should shield sensitive organs near X-rays when treating patients, but many hospitals have not implemented them.
More than two months have passed, and the reporter of Life Times visited several top three hospitals in Beijing again and found that the problem of "naked examination" has not been paid attention to and solved, and many patients are indifferent to it. On the contrary, many foreigners living in China told reporters that foreign countries have very strict requirements for the protection of ct and chest X-rays, and they even dare not have X-rays in China for fear of radiation.
Encountered "naked inspection" in a first-class hospital
On July 2 1 day, the reporter investigated many top domestic hospitals such as Beijing Tongren Hospital and Beijing Hospital. There are long queues in front of their CT examination room and CT registration room, and a large number of waiting people crowded the corridor. However, when the reporter asked a number of patients coming out of the examination room one by one, only one patient in Tongren Hospital said that the doctor gave him protective clothing during the examination. In front of the X-ray examination room on the first floor of the inpatient department of Beijing Hospital, a young woman pushed an old man in a wheelchair and just got the examination report. She told reporters that not only did the doctor not let the patient wear protective clothing during the examination, but she also did not wear it as a chaperone. But before entering the examination room, she clearly saw that the poster on the wall outside said that the examinees should wear protective clothing.
In the investigation, the reporter found that the phenomenon of "naked inspection" is more common, and medical staff rarely provide protective clothing on their own initiative. Ms. Zhang, who has had a physical examination in the Physical Examination Center of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, has a deep understanding of this. She said: "When I got to the chest X-ray room, the doctor told me to stand directly in front of the instrument. I'm worried that radiation is harmful to my health, so I volunteered to wear protective clothing. The doctor reluctantly took out a set from under the shelf and gave it to me. " There are not a few patients with protection consciousness like Ms. Zhang. In most cases, doctors don't tell patients about the dangers of radiation, and patients themselves are unconscious. In Tongren Hospital, a patient casually told reporters that X-rays were only taken once in a while, and it would be over soon, so there would be no problem.
Abuse leads to potential danger.
In sharp contrast to the "naked examination" in China, even in foreign countries, patients will be armed to the teeth, and our reporters in Germany have a deep understanding of this. Before filming, the doctor introduced the X-ray radiation process to him in detail, and personally helped the reporter put on a heavy lead protective suit, covering the neck, chest, lower body and other parts, and put on a protective hood. When everything is ready, the doctor will press the shutter.
Li Kuncheng, director of Beijing Medical Image Quality Control and Improvement Center and director of xuanwu hospital Radiology Department in Beijing, believes that inadequate protection is really common in China, while foreign countries do well in this respect because there are fewer patients in hospitals. "For example, CT, they do 20 patients a day, and a domestic hospital has to do at least one or two hundred a day. Although there are relevant regulations in the country, most hospitals are also equipped with protective clothing, but if every patient wears it, it will be too troublesome and time-consuming, and it will definitely be endless. "
As for the harm of X-rays, research by Oxford University and Cancer Research Center in the UK shows that 0.6% of new cancer cases in the UK, 1.5% in Germany and 3.2% in Japan are caused by X-rays and CT examinations. It is more harmful to pregnant women and children, will seriously damage children's intellectual development, and will also lead to fetal malformation. However, Zhou Cheng, executive vice president of China Medical Imaging Technology Research Association, vice chairman of Radiology Branch of Chinese Medical Association and director of Radiology Department of Peking Hospital, pointed out that this is only an inference, and there is no convincing evidence in clinic. But he also admitted that the potential risks of X-ray examination must exist, especially when it is abused. The Radiology Society of Chinese Medical Association has published a set of data: about 250 million people in China receive X-ray examination every year, but 20% of them have no clinical significance. The abuse of CT is more common, and some hospitals even lower prices to attract patients.
Don't ask for an x-ray.
According to the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Health, a medical staff in radiology department who works continuously should receive less than 20 millisieverts (MSVs) each year, while X-rays are 0.02-0.03 MSVs and CT is 6-8 MSVs. Feng, Dean of Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University, Chairman-designate of Radiology Branch of Chinese Medical Association and Director of Radiology Department of Huashan Hospital, pointed out that the radiation dose of routine examination is within the range of human safety, but it should be done as little as possible. Adult physical examination, CT and other X-ray examinations are conducted once a year at most, so it is unnecessary to repeat the physical examination. If you see a doctor, you should decide whether to have an X-ray examination according to your illness, and you can't ask for it on your own initiative. You can ask whether other methods, such as magnetic resonance imaging and B-ultrasound, can achieve the same effect, and try to choose a method that has a small amount of radiation and can ensure the inspection effect. He also warned:
Take the initiative to request radiation protection before inspection. If the patient asks if there is any protective equipment, the hospital must provide it. Areas that are highly sensitive to X-rays, such as gonads and thyroid, should be protected.
Don't enter the examination room unless necessary. Don't go into the examination room when the red light is on, try not to accompany the patient for X-ray examination, and wear protective clothing if necessary.
Pregnant women and children need the most vigilance. If it is not a special need, pregnant women who are 8- 15 weeks pregnant should refuse abdominal X-ray examination. Many mothers eagerly ask for CT after their children are injured, but they don't consider the radiation problem. A study in the American Journal of Radiotherapy found that children's CT scans were not as effective as everyone thought, and only 7% of children detected intracranial injuries.
