Where is Huanglongxi?

Huanglongxi Scenic Area, located in huanglongxi town, Shuangliu District, Chengdu, is one of the top ten ancient water towns with a history of 1700 years. The ancient town is not only beautiful in scenery and environment, but also a famous natural film and television photography base at home and abroad. The main features of the ancient town are: ancient streets, ancient trees, ancient temples, ancient water and land docks, ancient buildings and simple folk customs.

In huanglongxi town, Ming and Qing buildings abound and are well preserved. Streets paved with red stones, pavilions with wooden columns and green tiles, beautifully carved railings and windows give people a sense of tranquility.

In the ancient town, the most distinctive is the teahouse. On both sides of the road, on the river bank and under the bamboo forest, bamboo frames, chairs and stools are spread out. A bowl of tea costs two or three yuan, and you can sit for one day. Especially for the elderly, it doesn't cost much to go out for a bird walk and drink tea in the morning, which is a leisurely and elegant enjoyment.

Huanglongxi town has been a town for more than 2 100 years, with a profound historical background, and was called "Chishui" in ancient times. Also known as yongxingchang. The original site is located in the backwater area on the east bank of Fuhe River. It was destroyed by a fire in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, so it is also called "fire field". Later, He, Qiao and Tang moved to the current site to build a field, which gradually developed into today's scale.

The Records of Huayang Country records a natural wonder that happened here at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty: "In the 24th year of Jian 'an (AD 2 19), Huanglong saw (now) the 9th day of Wuyang Chishui". Huanglongxi in Han Dynasty belonged to Wuyang tube, and the jurisdiction of Wuyang was probably in Xinjin and Pengshan areas along Muma Mountain today.
