What's the difference between a SLR Quan Huafu and a non-full-frame camera?

As far as "frame" is concerned, the differences between "full" frame cameras and "incomplete" frame cameras are discussed:

1, the adjacent black box in the red box indicates the area of the full camera CCD, and the long side = 36 mm.

3. In the vernacular, the bottom area of a full-frame camera is equal to the bottom area of 135 negative.

: 1, Quan Huafu refers to the area of CCD/CMOS of digital camera as large as a frame of film with the same specification (i.e. 36×24mm). However, due to the difficulty and high price of CCD/CMOS, most digital cameras are not made in Quan Huafu at present. CCD/CMOS is smaller than a 135 film, and its imaging area is also smaller. Generally speaking, DSLR is larger than small DC. The most common frame between them is APS-C frame.

2.APS is called advanced photo system, which is an outdated photo system. There are three sizes of APS film: C, H and P. The H type is Quan Huafu (30.3× 16.6mm), and the C type (24.9× 16.6mm) is one end of the left and right ends of Quan Huafu, with an aspect ratio of 3∶2, and the P type (30.3×10.

Digital SLR borrowed this standard, and called 22.5× 15.0 mm and 23.6× 15.8 mm close to the size of C as APS-C frames. The 28.7×1mm of EOS- 1D and 1DMkII are called APS-H frames.

3. There is usually another expression, namely 1.3 times/1.5 times/1.6 times, which means that the diagonal size of Quan Huafu is multiple of the diagonal size of the camera imaging element, the conversion ratio of Canon is 1.6 times, and Nikon is1. Take Canon EOS 400D(APS-C format) and a lens with 18-55mm as an example. The lens with the equivalent focal length of a digital camera multiplied by 1.6 will become 28.8-88mm, but if a Quan Huafu SLR is matched with a lens with 18-55mm, its focal length will remain unchanged.

4. Therefore, Quan Huafu has obvious advantages, not only making full use of the old lens, but also because the CCD/CMOS area of the photosensitive element is large, so the more photons captured, the better the photosensitive performance and the lower the signal-to-noise ratio. This is why Quan Huafu SLR is a major trend of digital SLR development in the future.
