What does the da toolbar in 3d one mean?

Enter the dialog box to select the format, and you will see many imported formats. 3ds Max supports numerous file format import methods.

The formats supported by the import are:

Autodesk (FBX): (commonly used)

FBX is the inherent file format of Autodesk MotionBuilder, which is used to create, Edit and blend motion capture and keyframe animation. It is also the file format used for sharing data with Autodesk Revit Architecture. You can use 3ds Max to import and export files in this format. Maya, Softimage, and Toxik also use the FBX format, making it a bridge between all these applications.

3D Studio Mesh (3DS, PRJ) (supported models only)

3DS is the 3D Studio? (DOS) mesh file format. Only model files and lights can be exported, and the UV of the model cannot be attached. It is a relatively elementary format.

Adobe Illustrator (AI)

You can import Adobe Illustrator (AI88) files. Mainly the import of some vector lines.

Autodesk Collada (DAE)

The FBX importer/exporter also supports the Collada (DAE) file format. It is generally recommended to use fbx for export.

LandXML /DEM /DDF (DEM, XML, DDF)

In the LandXML/DEM Model Generator, you can determine which parts of your land development data you want to import into 3ds Max middle. 3ds Max then creates separate objects for each land feature, including terrain surfaces, road alignments, and parcels of land.

AutoCAD graphics (DWG) (convert to CAD)

AutoCAD drawing graphics import format.

Converts a subset of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architectural (formerly Architectural Desktop), or Revit objects to corresponding 3ds Max objects when importing drawing files.

Original AutoCAD (DWG)

The new AutoCAD DWG/DXF Import Options dialog box has many improvements, including enhanced DWG compatibility and more powerful user controls and Customizability; however, some features of the DWG importer from previous versions of 3ds Max are missing. Therefore, 3ds Max retains past DWG import functionality.

Flight Studio OpenFlight (FLT)

The OpenFlight? format is commonly used in visual simulation systems. OpenFlight files can be imported and exported. Using the Flight Studio? tool, you can also create and edit objects and properties in OpenFlight files.

Motion Analysis HTR File (HTR)

Motion Analysis HTR (Hierarchical Translation-Rotation) motion capture file format is an alternative to the bvh format as it provides data types and sorting flexibility in terms of. It also has a complete base pose specification, which consists of starting points representing rotations and translations.

The stored data is grouped by sections; all movements of the first section are read, then the movements of the next section, and so on.

The HTR format contains four parts: head-up, segment name and level, basic posture, and motion data part.

IGES (IGE, IGS, IGES)

IGES files are used to import and export NURBS objects from 3ds Max (and other programs that support this file format).

Autodesk Inventor (IPT, IAM)

IPT and IAM are native Autodesk Inventor? file formats for parts (IPT) and collections (IAM). You can import two file formats into 3ds Max.

Lightscape files (LP, LS and other formats) (convertible to lp)

Lightscape is a visualization application that uses radiosity and ray tracing to create 3D Model to create accurate lighting. You can export a 3ds Max scene to Lightscape format or import a Lightscape file.

gw::OBJ-Importer (OBJ) (commonly used format for exporting models, supports coordinates)

Supports importing related materials and maps. Supports uvw coordinates, which is a good choice if you save the model separately.

3D Studio Graphics (SHP)

SHP is the 3D Studio (DOS) graphics file format. You can import these files into 3ds Max.

Stereolitho (STL)

STL files save object data in a format used for stereolithography. STL files have a filename extension of .stl. This can be either ASCII STL format or a binary STL format. You can select the objects to create when exporting a 3ds Max scene.

STL files are commonly used for rapid prototyping model building. Many methods use the STL format to construct prototypes. For example, many STL machines use liquid crystal polymers and reinforce them on small sheets to create strong plastic models. Other STL machines use metal powder to create steel patterns. There are also some machines that still use special wax.

Motion Analysis TRC File (TRC)

The "Motion Analysis TRC" motion capture file format represents the raw form of tracking output (ASCII). It contains a title section and a movement section.

All tracking markers stored in TRC files contain global positioning data, but do not share parent-child relationships between them.

When importing, 3ds Max converts the incoming data to spheres or points, depending on the marker name.

You can use the MACUtilities tool to convert imported TRC motion to CSM format so that it can be mapped into a biped.

VRML (WRL, WRZ)

You can import VRML 1.0, VRBL, and VRML 2.0/VRML 97 files into 3ds Max. 3ds Max imports geometry, materials (including texture maps), lights, perspective cameras and viewpoints, transform and group nodes created by VRML tools. As long as these objects are in the scene file, they can be edited, modified, and animated.

VIZ Material

You can import materials created by viz
