Brief introduction of uzak's plot

After a photographer came to Istanbul from a remote mountain village for many years, he has completely integrated into the life of a big city. One of his young relatives also came here from his hometown to join him and look for a job on an ocean-going ship. So the photographer took the young man in and let him live in his apartment. At first, the photographer, a naive country boy, was a little sympathetic and concerned. With his unemployment, he gradually couldn't stand the idea that poor relatives lived here indefinitely, and he felt that his private space had been invaded. So the photographer decided to try his best to drive the young people out of the apartment.

In A Small Apartment, director nuri bilge ceylan reveals the change of this crowded city and the urbanization process of rural immigrants through the quiet confrontation between two men. Young people who have just come from the countryside are always put in an empty place. Even in the apartment, he often stays on the balcony, and the photographer assimilated by the city is always surrounded by a closed environment. He used to enclose himself in a closed apartment and regard the apartment as a sacred and inviolable private territory. The director clearly outlines the living conditions of modern urbanites in the film.
