Liang Guangming's Personality Evaluation

Liang Guangming is good at shooting people, dances, landscapes and patterns. His works have a wide range of themes, unique framing ideas, varied expression techniques and fascinating. His works not only draw lessons from the lines of prints and the effects of impressionist oil paintings, but also use various darkroom techniques to give full play to the artistic characteristics of photography. Although all his works reflect ordinary life, under his artistic processing, magic is seen in the ordinary, giving people endless vitality. In particular, his first additive method, which prints black and white photos in color to produce woodcut effect, has been regarded as a model by many photographers in the world.

Liang Guangming is modest, honest and approachable. Like his works, his personality has a unique style. After retirement, he still likes all kinds of photography activities, and is often invited to give speeches and serve as a judge of competitions, or to write papers and publish them in newspapers and periodicals. He believes that although modern color photography is popular, black and white photography is more expressive and artistic in terms of artistic depth. At the end of 1987, the Photographic Society of new york, USA held a 50-year selected exhibition for him in Chinatown, New York, showing 80 frames of his painstaking work in the past 50 years, and the famous photographer Lang Jingshan personally attended the exhibition.
