How often is the May 4th Youth Medal evaluated?

The May 4th Medal for Chinese Youth is selected once a year. This medal is the highest honor awarded by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and all-china youth federation to China 14 to 40 years old (14 and under 40 years old).

I. Selection conditions

The members of the preliminary evaluation committee are randomly selected from the "judges' library". The "judges' library" consists of representatives from party and government organs, universities, scientific research institutes, news organizations, enterprises, etc., as well as representatives of winners of previous "China Youth May 4th Medal" and heads of relevant departments of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League.

The Central Secretariat of the Communist Youth League determines the commendation list from the recommended candidates. The Organization Department of the Communist Youth League Central Committee is responsible for the specific work of selection and commendation.

Third, the working procedure.

1, nomination

The recommended candidates are nominated by the Provincial Youth League Committee and the Youth Federation. Each province (system) nominates no more than 2 people, and the nominees must be people who mainly work or settle in the province (system).

The provincial Communist Youth League Committee and the Youth Federation should strictly inspect the recommended candidates, solicit opinions from the party organizations of the units where the candidates belong, the competent departments at higher levels and relevant parties, form written materials on this basis, and submit them to the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League.

The candidates recommended by the military system (including the Armed Police) shall be nominated and inspected by the Organization Department of the General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army, and no more than 3 people shall be nominated.

Step 2 review

The Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League shall examine the qualifications of the recommended candidates in strict accordance with the selection conditions, and submit the qualified candidates to the Preliminary Evaluation Committee.

3. Preliminary assessment

According to the deeds of the candidates, the members of the Preliminary Evaluation Committee put forward no more than 40 recommended candidates under their signatures. According to the number of votes, the Preliminary Evaluation Committee determines a list of no more than 40 recommended candidates.

Step 4 publicize

Through China Youth Daily, China Communist Youth League Network and China Youth Network, the preliminary evaluation results will be publicized to the public for 5 working days.

5. Identify candidates

According to the results of the publicity, the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League will select and determine the list of winners of the "China Youth May 4th Medal" with no more than 30 people from the proposers. Other candidates who have no objection after publicity won the nomination award of the May 4th Medal of Chinese Youth.

Every year, a commendation ceremony is held around the May 4th Movement, and the "May 4th Medal for Chinese Youth" is awarded to the winners.
