Warehouse, Anti-Japanese War Highway, chengdu-kunming railway, this is the Dadu River Grand Canyon.
Dadu River Grand Canyon starts from Wuxihe Town, Hanyuan, Ya 'an in the west, and reaches Jinkouhe District, Leshan City in the east, spanning Jinkouhe District, Ya 'an City and Ganluo County, Liangzhou City, Sichuan Province. The Dadu River, which originated in the northwest plateau of Sichuan and is famous for its sinister turbulence, roared at the bottom of the valley and spilled thousands of miles.

The readiness of the warehouse
Walking on the 306 provincial highway, you can see a branch ditch perpendicular to the Dadu River on both sides of the Grand Canyon from time to time. The width of these branches is often less than 20 meters, but the cliffs on both sides are as high as hundreds of meters to thousands of meters, showing the landscape of steep cliffs and deep streams without exception.
Laocanggou, Baixionggou and Shunshui River Gorge on the north bank, Maobuergou and Baoshuixi on the south bank, etc. With extremely beautiful scenery, it is now an excellent place to cross on foot, go upstream or explore.
The north bridge head of Jinkouhe Bridge is facing a deep ditch, which is the valley mouth of Shunshuihe Canyon. As soon as we entered the valley, the road turned sharply to the left and climbed up. Soon, the Dadu River was as thin as a ribbon at the foot of the mountain, and then covered by heavy cliffs. On both sides of the highway, there are mountains as high as 1000 meters above sea level, or miniature canyons with a width of only 10 meters, which makes people feel unpredictable. Or the longitudinal cracks in Chen Zhe make people feel sinister and ferocious.
1903, Wilson, a famous British explorer and botanist, set out from Chengdu, visited Leshan and Emei Mountain, and continued westward along Yangshanjiang Road between Yi Xi Road and Nanyi Road.
This ancient road, which meanders in the Shunshui River Canyon, does not directly cross the Dadu River Canyon, but bypasses the mountains on the north side of the Dadu River and turns west after passing through Wuchi Village, Yongsheng Township, Leshan.
Continue to go deep into the valley along the river, and the mountain will no longer be broken. On the left side of Panshan Highway halfway up the mountain, dozens of tunnels about three meters high and five meters wide have flashed one after another. Look at the parking lot carefully. The vault and walls are cast with cement as a whole, and the steel door at the crossing is more than ten centimeters thick.
The gate of a large-scale national war preparation warehouse built in the 1970s.
The passage in the tunnel is deep but spacious, and its main passage can accommodate almost two trucks at the same time. There is a winding passage next to the main passage, which makes people seem to have entered a maze. It seems that the mountain has been hollowed out. To my surprise, there are only four walls in the tunnel, and there is no trace of what it is used for.
According to the data, this is the combat readiness warehouse built by the General Logistics Department of China People's Liberation Army to meet the large-scale war, and it is called the third largest combat readiness warehouse in China. Although I am psychologically prepared, I am still surprised by its location and scale.
Warehouse 1974 started, and 1985 was completed as a whole. A total of 28 groups of caves with different depths (1000 meters deep and about 300 meters shallow) were built. Each group of caves has different sizes and some of them are interconnected. The capacity of the whole warehouse can reach. All the caves are arranged in parallel, with different intervals, and span the Lexi Highway 4 kilometers away from the mountain. Tens of thousands of soldiers and civilians were used in the whole project construction, mainly to store ammunition and weapons.
Nowadays, although these warehouses are idle, they benefit local people-they use the constant temperature environment in the warehouses to grow agricultural products such as Pleurotus ostreatus.
In Shunshui River Gorge, a Lexi Highway, which is as famous as the Yunnan-Myanmar Highway, extends roughly along the Yangshan River that Wilson stepped on. This road, praised by historians as "an anti-Japanese road built with flesh and blood", runs parallel to the Dadu River, but runs through the mountains of Dawa Mountain. After connecting Wusihe Town with the existing provincial highway, it finally arrived in Xichang. The road survey started at the most critical moment in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression1May, 939, and was opened to traffic at the end of 194 1. * * * More than 200,000 road builders from Yi and Han nationalities have been recruited in Chuankang area. Due to lack of food, fatigue, illness, work-related injuries and other reasons, the number of casualties reached as high as 30,000, including more than 4,000 deaths, with an average of 8 people giving their lives per kilometer.
Traffic miracle
Along the 306 provincial highway, you have to pass through Baixionggou at the junction of Leshan and Ya 'an. This is a famous landscape of the Dadu River Grand Canyon, with a total length of about seven kilometers, and its canyon reaches the southern foot of Dawa Mountain.
Baixionggou Canyon is deep and quiet along the way, with fantastic scenery. Between the cliffs with a height difference of nearly 1000 meters on both sides of the strait, vegetation hangs high, covering the sky, hanging springs like practice, and waterfalls splash jade. The grotesque rocks on the cliff are lifelike natural stone carvings with various figures or animals.
Crossing from the mouth of the ditch to the south, you can reach Washanping, Dawashan. In recent years, this route has become another classic route for donkey friends to climb Dawa Mountain (another route to climb Dawa Mountain is to go up the mountain in Wuchi Village, Yongsheng Township, Lubei).
This road, in fact, can't be called a road: the donkey friends can only walk along the natural direction of the ravine, at the bottom of the ravine full of rocks, and in the ditch. Before approaching the southern foot of Dawa Mountain, the slope is not steep as a whole, but it needs to jump around on the large and small gravel piles.
Go west along provincial highway 306, and you will see Laocanggou, another branch ditch of Dadu River Gorge. Its ravine, a railway bridge with a span of 54 meters, is particularly eye-catching.
Known as the "first-line overpass", chengdu-kunming railway Bridge still holds the record of the largest railway stone arch bridge in China. In the 600-meter-long canyon at the exit of Laocanggou, the cliff-like cliffs on both sides are as high as 200 meters, while the width of the valley is only 20 meters, and the narrowest part is close to 10 meter. Looking up at the bottom of the valley, you can only see a narrow "line of sight".
"a scene"
Climb the cliff near the "first-line overpass" and you can reach Gulu village, a Yi village with 500 to 600 people.
Gulu village is located on the precipice at the entrance of Dadu River Grand Canyon. Its villagers have lived here for generations, and I don't know how many generations have passed. Their ancestors moved to this canyon and cliff to escape the war. For many years, people in Gulu village have to go outside, and there is only one way to go, that is, from the cliff to the Dadu River. The so-called road is actually a ladder tied with a wooden stick in a steep place. Where you can't even get on the wooden ladder, use a rattan rope the thickness of a small glass mouth to go up and down. When the locals go down the mountain, they have to carry mountain products; When you go up the mountain, you should carry a salt cloth on your back. If you are not careful, you will fall to the bottom and have no good end.
Until the 1960s, when chengdu-kunming railway was built, railway soldiers who built roads used steel plates to weld steel ladders in steep places. In 2003, the government paid and the villagers contributed, and a road less than one meter wide was chiseled on the precipice. Thus, the villagers in Gulu village ended the history of monkeys swinging on the vines.
Nowadays, this strange and dangerous Gulu village has become an excellent place for photographers to take pictures of the scenery of Dadu River Gorge.
Buyi, Tian Ping, Pinger and other Yi villages on the cliffs along the Dadu River are close to the mountains and rivers, and they are also the ideal places for human geography explorers to understand the local primitive folk customs.
Chengdu-kunming railway Dadu River Gorge is steep with few flat lands on both sides. There are only 14 tunnels, with a total length of 2 1km, accounting for more than 80% of the line length, which makes this section of railway almost completely closed. Almost all these tunnels are connected by bridges.
Although chengdu-kunming railway is parallel to 100 meters above the 306 provincial highway, you can hardly see the trace of chengdu-kunming railway when you drive along the provincial highway next to the Dadu River. Only after passing through the branches and gullies that intersect with the Dadu River Grand Canyon, the sudden tunnel opening, the bridge that crosses branches and deep streams, and the train that suddenly passes by the bridge will make people feel a sense of shock.
The train galloping in the canyon, like a python hidden in a deep hole, pokes out of the hole from time to time, leaps up and instantly drills back into the nest.

Chengdu-kunming railway was built in 1960s, when railway builders created many wonders of the world and left many scenic spots.
Laocanggou "Yixiantian" railway stone arch bridge, built in 1964, is 14m longer than the previous longest French railway stone arch bridge in the world, and it is the largest railway long-span hollow stone arch bridge in the world. Between "Yixiantian" and Wusi River Railway Station, at the intersection of Pubugou and Dadu River, two bridge columns with a height of more than 50 meters were erected from the valley, carrying a suspended railway connecting the two tunnels for more than 70 meters.
The towering cliff next to the bridge column is written with the words "the first column in the world", which has become another cultural landscape of the Dadu River Grand Canyon.
Chengdu-kunming railway "The First Pillar in the World" Railway Bridge
In the Dadu River Grand Canyon, there is the only railway station in China-Guancunba Railway Station. The station opened at 1969, with three lanes, one outside and the third inside the tunnel. If the train passes through the third lane, the personnel on duty must enter the tunnel to receive and send the train. It is said that when the railway station was built at that time, due to the unique geological factors of the Grand Canyon, a big dam was never found to build the station, and finally a cave had to be dug, thus forming the wonders of the railway station in the cave.
