Brief introduction of Feng Jicai

Mr Feng Jicai is a writer whom I especially respect. The first work he came into contact with was two versions of Miracle on Earth. Only in recent years, he has become a minor celebrity in China's literary world. He is not a writer, but a cultural relic protector.

As the chairman of China Folk Writers and Artists Association, he traveled around all the year round to conduct field investigations and rescue cultural heritage; As a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), he often sharply criticizes all kinds of phenomena that destroy cultural heritage with anxiety.

Feng Jicai is not a man of culture who only preaches. Facing the ancient villages that are disappearing every day in China, in 2004, he set up a folk culture foundation named after himself. In the past ten years, he ran from one ancient village to another and fought one "hard battle" after another.

Although his cry is often drowned in the noise of social worship of GDP, although his actions are more difficult than sailing against the current, he never flinches. From June 2065438 to June 2004, Feng Jicai and his team launched a new project-"Investigation on the Record of Traditional Villages in China". I dare not comment on Mr. Feng Jicai's artistic attainments, but judging from his contribution to cultural history and heritage protection, it is estimated that few people can compare with him.

Mr. Feng Jicai has a cultural vision, and his works are mostly essays, full of rich cultural characteristics. This kind of cultural accomplishment is revealed between the lines with ordinary and straightforward words, instead of expressing his arrogance with a bunch of unknown words like some writers. His writing features are: paying attention to selecting a novel perspective, using changeable artistic techniques, describing in detail, digging the inside story of life and chewing the aftertaste of life.

At the same time, he is also a painter, who has published a variety of large-scale paintings and held solo exhibitions in major cities in China, Austria, Singapore, Japan and the United States. He is called "the representative of modern literati painting" by critics because of his painting skills and profound literary artistic conception.
