The Baby of Rosemary (1968)

Plot:

This is a modern horror mystery film, which tells the story of an unknown actor in new york, Kai, and his wife, Rosemary, who move to an old apartment in Manhattan. There were all kinds of ominous remarks about this apartment before, but they didn't take it to heart. The adopted daughter of the old lady who lives next door committed suicide for unknown reasons. Therefore, Rosemary is unwilling to associate with them. On the contrary, her husband gets along well with them. At this time, due to the constant accidents of other actors, Kay had the opportunity to be assigned an excellent role in the performance. One night, Kay told Ross that she wanted to have a child. That night, Ross had a nightmare, dreaming that a hairy monster invaded her, and soon she was pregnant. Minnie, the old lady next door, takes good care of her, but she is getting thinner and thinner. Later, Rose got a book from her dead friend and found that her husband and the old lady next door's house were a bit like the devil's house mentioned in the book. Later, the baby she gave birth to also had no pupils. She tried to kill her, but she saw the smile on her face that belonged to her mother. Has she become a demon, too

Behind the scenes production

This film created a series of horror movies, exposing the evil hidden in the depths of American healthy nuclear families. Director roman polanski mercilessly led the audience into a world full of witchcraft and devil worship, which was blinded by friendship and harmony. Mia farrow's youth and fragility make her the prey of cruel and ambitious "John Kassovitz" and mysterious and eccentric old couple.

titbits

The Dakota Building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan was renamed Bramford in this movie.

It was during the filming that mia farrow received the divorce agreement from her then husband, Frank Sinata.

Alfred Hitchcock should be the director of this film.

At that time, it was rumored that Anton Ravi, the founder of Satan Church, provided technical support for the film and portrayed Satan as pregnant in one scene. This is wrong, because Anton Ravi has never had anything to do with this film.

Sam Austin, the nominee for best editing, then directed a sequel: Look What Happened to Rosemary's Baby (1976) (TV).

1969, the actress Sharon Tate, the wife of film director roman polanski, was pregnant and was killed by Charles Menson and his accomplices. They said that their death fanaticism was influenced by 1968, a Beatles song "Helter Skelter". John Lennon, the lead singer of the Beatles (1980 was killed), once lived in an apartment in Manhattan called Dakota, which was filmed by Rosemary's baby.

The lullaby in the movie was sung by mia farrow himself.

This is the first adaptation of roman polanski, and it is very faithful to the original. Even every dialogue, color arrangement and clothing are strictly in accordance with the novel.

According to mia farrow, the scene of Rosemary walking in the street is completely spontaneous and true. Roman polanski once told her that "no one wants to run over a pregnant woman".

This is the first film made by roman polanski in the United States. His first film in America was downhill racer (1969), but Robert Evans of Paramount later decided that it was more suitable for Polanski.

Mia farrow has a scene in the movie where he really eats raw liver.

Rosemary (mia farrow) says to Terry Knofilo (Angela Dorian), "I thought you were the actress Victoria Vicky." Terry replied, "Everyone says so, but I don't find any similarities." Victoria Vicky is Angela Dorian's real name.

Wonderful dialogue

Joan Jellicoe, Rosemary's girlfriend: You dirty and smelly secret keeper!

-

Minnie Castaway: Now! This is what I call the long arm of coincidence!

-

Dr Abe sapir stein: Come quietly with us, Rosemary. Don't argue or make a scene. Because if you say anything about witches or witchcraft, we will be forced to take you to a mental hospital. You don't want that, do you?

-

Rosemary Woodhouse: You're lying. It's not dead. You took it. You are lying. You witches! You are lying! You are lying! You are lying! You are lying!

-

Rosemary Woodhouse: They use blood in rituals, and the most powerful blood is the baby's blood!

-

Rosemary Woodhouse: Terrible things happen in every apartment.

Rosemary Woodhouse: I look terrible.

Guy Woodhouse: What are you talking about? You look great. It's that hairstyle that looks terrible.

A (movie) fiasco

Coherence: When Rosemary staggered out of the kitchen, Guy caught up with her and called her "Mia".

Anachronism: According to the film, her due date is1June, 966, which means Rosemary went to Manhattan at that time during Christmas 1965. The film shown in Radio City Concert Hall is The Happiest Millionaire (1967), and the premiere time is Christmas 1967.

Found a mistake: Rosemary and Guy came back from dinner at Casterwitt's house. In the bedroom, Guy unbuttoned his shirt twice.

Consistency: In the initial scene, when she walked from outside to inside, her hairstyle was different.

Anachronism: At the funeral, one of the limousines was 1968, although the movie was set to 1966.

Consistency: In the scene where Rosemary was raped, it was obviously a wig.
