What is PDR?

PDR is a medical term which means proliferative retinopathy.

(DR) can be divided into background phase and proliferation phase. The background phase is divided into 1 phase: microvessels and small bleeding spots. Stage 2: Hard exudation occurs. Stage 3: Cotton-like soft exudation occurs. The proliferative phase is divided into four stages: neovascularization and vitreous hemorrhage. Stage 5: Fibrovascular hyperplasia, vitreous tissue. Stage 6: traction retinal detachment, blindness. When proliferative retinopathy (PDR) appears, it is often accompanied by diabetic nephropathy and neuropathy.

Extended data:

DR refers to a new digital X-ray photography technology directly controlled by computer, that is, X-ray information penetrating human body is converted into digital signals by using amorphous silicon flat panel detector, and images are reconstructed by computer and a series of image post-processing. DR system mainly includes X-ray generator, direct conversion flat panel detector, system controller, image monitor and image processing workstation.

Due to the adoption of digital technology, DR can perform various image post-processing according to clinical needs, such as automatic image processing technology, edge enhancement and sharpness technology, zoom roaming, image mosaic, window width and window level adjustment of the region of interest, distance, area, density measurement and other rich functions. In addition, due to the wide dynamic range of DR technology, the high detection efficiency (DQE) of X-ray photons and the wide exposure latitude, a good image can be obtained even if the exposure conditions are slightly poor.
