Freeze-frame animation production process

Preparatory stage

In addition to doing well, use ordinary paintings.

In addition to the similar preparation work of the film made of painting materials, I also need to draw my modeling design drawings and submit them to my workshop for trial production. I need to take into account the production materials of my skeleton, joints, interior decoration, skin and joint settings. Submit the set design drawings to the scene production workshop to produce the required scene; Even the action operator analyzes the role of the film, designs the action rhythm, and starts shooting after the rehearsal; Complete various technical experiments including character props test, shooting equipment performance test, stunt and so on.

Shooting stage

Check the preparation work before shooting, including roles, scenery, lighting, action, photography and other departments, so as to formally shoot according to the shooting progress. The shooting of each scene is based on the split-shot picture. The artist arranges the scene, the photographer determines the position and lighting of the lens, and the director repeats the shooting.

Stop-motion animation shooting

Shooting content: the actor manipulates the puppet show according to the plot, records the number of shots, scenes, dialogues and action contents, and fills in the shooting table. After taking a batch of negatives, they will be sent to the printing department to print the work samples, or put into the computer for lens inspection.

Post-production stage

From editing work samples, recording dialogue, music and sound effects, mixing and recording, to the synthesis and reproduction of sound and pictures, it is basically the same as other films.

Due to the different materials used in the production of all kinds of films contained in stop-motion animation, their production processes are also different. The main difference is in the preparation stage, followed by the shooting stage, and the post-production stage is the same.
