Introduction and details of Vancouver China Film Festival

Vancouver Chinese Film Festival is officially registered in British Columbia, Canada, and has been held once a year since 20 13. The film festival aims to promote China's outstanding films, China's traditional culture, promote cultural exchanges between China and Canada, gather outstanding young filmmakers at home and abroad, and explore the new generation of films. Through film screening, academic discussion, creative creation, film market, cultural performances and other forms, it provides a platform for exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign filmmakers and artists.

Vancouver Chinese Film Festival, with the strong support of Canadian Third Class and Consulate General of People's Republic of China (PRC) (PRC) in Vancouver, and the close attention of the global media, focuses on Chinese filmmakers at home and abroad, which is a feast to show China films and China culture. Vancouver Chinese Film Festival has become one of the mainstream film festivals in Canada and is more influential internationally.

Since 20 16, the organizing committee of Vancouver Chinese Film Festival has sent 5- 10 outstanding young Canadian directors to China for a half-month cultural experience every year, and filmed 10-minute documentaries to be shown at the film festival. On July 20 16, under the leadership of the organizing committee of Vancouver Chinese Film Festival, five Canadian directors successfully completed five works, namely, Yipinwula, Reunion of Dreams, Shuiyin, Yipinwula and Lotus Waterfall (also known as A Meal in Ningshe). Five talented young Canadian directors had a deep experience of China culture in half a month, and at the same time actively showed China culture with local characteristics to Canada to attract attention, and the screening received good response.

On June 20 17, the organizing committee of Vancouver Chinese Film Festival sent four Canadian directors and five American young directors to the northwest of China to shoot the Belt and Road for a period of 17 days. The Canadian director saw the Yellow River, the mother river of China, visited the headquarters of the famous Reader in China, interviewed folk artists, experienced the life of herders and learned about Lanzhou New Town. Nine documentaries were completed, namely, Art Scenery, Flow, Old Paper, Truth, Goodness and Beauty, Four Miles North, Pulse Connection, Yongtai Sheep House, Tucheng and Shandanpu.

20 18 Vancouver Chinese Film Festival successfully held the China Branch. In cooperation with Sichuan Normal University, the Vancouver Chinese Film Festival held the China University Student Hosting Competition for the first time, attracting students from more than 0/00 universities across the country. The contestants who stood out from the competition were invited to Vancouver to hold the 6th Vancouver Chinese Film Festival.

In 20 19, the Organizing Committee of Vancouver Chinese Film Festival and Southwest University held the "7th Vancouver (International) Chinese Film Festival China University Student Hosting Competition and Microfilm Competition" to help more outstanding young people from China to enter the international cultural communication stage.
