How to do ps composite double exposure late special effects

Double exposure refers to multiple exposures on the same negative, which is a photographic technique. Many people are addicted to that mysterious and ineffable visual effect.

Step: 1

Open the portrait material in Photoshop and make some adjustments to the following material.

Second step

At the bottom of the Layers panel, click the Create New Fill or Adjust icon, and then click Select Solid Color.

Third step

Select white as the fill color, and then click OK.

Fourth step

Click the small lock of the background layer to unlock the layer and convert it into an editable layer. In the Layers panel, move the background above the Layers panel to display it.

Step five

Next, we need to dig out the model from the white background. For matting in a solid background, the best tool is the quick selection tool. Select the approximate matting range of the quick selection tool.

Step 6

Select Select > Adjust Edges to select the hair and other details of the model one by one. When the settings are finished, select "Export to layer mask" in the dialog box for adjusting edges, and then click "OK".

Step 7

Rename a layer to a basemap. Click the Create Adjustment Layer button in the Layers panel and select Black and White. Turn the cut model photos into black and white photos.

Step 8

The effect of adjusting the model photos to black and white photos is shown in the following figure. We can also adjust to the black-and-white photo effect we want by other methods.

Step 9

Also in the Layers panel, click Add Curve to adjust the layer. The curve settings are as follows. The adjustment here is to put the pattern of the second exposure in the dark when making the double exposure effect in the later stage.

Step: 10

Import the design material of the second exposure into Photoshop. Here you can add specific materials according to your own ideas. Here I choose to add another dance photo of this model. Of course, we still need to make some necessary adjustments.

Steps: 1 1

Copy the material of the second exposure to the main canvas, then press Ctrl+T to adjust the size of the pattern, and then press Alt to move the material.

Step: 12

Rename the material of the second exposure just now to the above picture. This time, the black-and-white adjustment layer is also adjusted to the black-and-white photo effect.

Step: 13

Then, the next step is to choose the appropriate layer blending mode and combine the two pictures into a secondary exposure effect. Here, the layer blending modes given by the author are: brightening, color filtering, linear thinning (adding) or light color. You can choose according to your own design ideas.

Step: 14

Select the move tool to move the two pictures to a better position.

Step: 15

Because it is a combination of two pictures, many design ideas can be generated here. By adjusting the position and black-and-white effect of the picture, the contrast of the picture can be enhanced and a better design effect can be obtained.

Step: 16

Add a mask to the upper mapping layer, and then cover the eyes of the lower mapping model with a soft black brush.

Step: 17

Finally, add some color changes. Add a hue/saturation layer, and gradually adjust it to your desired design effect by moving the small slider on the setting panel.

Step: 18

Through the above steps, you should probably be able to master the design skills of secondary exposure. Then we can choose other materials to enrich our secondary exposure design. Here I choose to pat the branches myself.

Step: 19

Here, branches are skillfully used to replace the original model, and the effect is shown in the following figure.
