The origin and history of kites

Kites originated in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. It was made by Mozi, a historical figure.

Kite is a toy with a long history, and its origin can be traced back to more than 3000 years ago. According to legend, as early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, a philosopher named Mozi in Lu, China, invented an "empty boat" to test the wind direction. This "empty boat" later evolved into a kite.

Kites were originally made of bamboo and paper, and their shapes are relatively simple, mostly birds, insects, fish and other animals. By the Tang Dynasty, kite-making technology had made great progress, with more diversified shapes, and various kites such as dragons, phoenixes, cows and horses appeared.

Changes in the era of kites

In the Song Dynasty, the kite-making technology was more mature, the shapes were more diversified, and kites of various colors appeared. At that time, people compared kites to "flying cranes" and thought that kites could fly into the sky and play with immortals.

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, kites became a popular form of entertainment. People not only fly kites during the Spring Festival, but also organize kite competitions at ordinary times. It is said that the rules of kite competition at that time were very strict, requiring kites not only to fly high, but also to fly steadily, and not to touch other people's kites.

In modern times, kite making technology is more advanced, materials are richer and shapes are more diverse. Nowadays kites can not only fly high, but also fly fast and even glide on water. And now there are more and more kite competitions, which are more and more popular with people.
