Mr. Ying Ruocheng 1950 was admitted to Beijing People's Art Theatre. During his decades of stage career, he has created a series of well-known artistic images, including Longxugou, Thunderstorm, Clear Sky, Miser, Teahouse, Wise Men Sometimes Nod, and so on. After the Cultural Revolution, with the expansion of China's foreign cultural exchanges, Ying Ruocheng made great contributions to the exchange of Chinese and foreign dramas. 1979, he translated Lao She's masterpiece Teahouse into English and published it abroad, which made preparations for the successful visit of Teahouse to Western Europe. /kloc-in the spring of 0/980, Ying Ruocheng went to England with Cao Yu for drama exchange, and then cooperated with British directors to rehearse Shakespeare's famous play "Please Come to the Urn" for Beijing People's Arts.
1983 Appointed Ruocheng as the Deputy Minister of Culture of People's Republic of China (PRC).
1983 translated arthur miller's masterpiece Death of a Salesman into Chinese, and cooperated with Miller to put it on the Beijing People's Art Stage. At the same time, he successfully created the protagonist Willie Roman in the play. 1In August, 982, the Si Nuo Foundation, Fulbright Foundation and universities in the Midwest of the United States jointly invited Ying Ruocheng to be a visiting professor and give a performance class to the drama department of the University of Missouri. Ying Ruocheng rehearsed China's drama "Home" for students in combination with his own teaching practice, which had a sensational effect in the United States. 1In August, 984, Ying Ruocheng, as a permanent professor at the University of Missouri, went to the United States to give lectures again, and rehearsed a drama adapted from China Kunqu Opera "Fifteen Passes" for students, which made a beneficial exploration on the combination of China traditional opera and modern drama.
During the period of 1998, Ying Ruocheng won the Philippine "Magsaysay News and Culture Award", which is known as the "Asian Nobel Prize", for his outstanding contribution to cultural exchanges and drama between China and foreign countries.
On the morning of February 27th, 2003, Ying Ruocheng died of respiratory and circulatory failure caused by liver disease in Union Medical College Hospital at the age of 74.
