Film and TV recruitment scam: First pay money to do extra work and then recruit people as customer service?
Recently, the media reported a film and television recruitment scam. First, they used high-tech recruitment websites to attract people to sign up for supervision. Part-time positions are generally for team members and lighting, makeup, costumes, photography, artist assistants, etc. Director assistant, etc., and then charge in various names such as training. The work done has nothing to do with the contract. In the end, after working for a month and not receiving any salary, I was asked to recruit new people as customer service staff. This is a scam after another.
What happened?
The reporter’s recruitment website was recruiting for summer part-time jobs. She and her friends applied for the roles of “artist assistant” and “make-up assistant” respectively, and followed the company’s requirements. The person paid 2,700 yuan for food. Later, she learned that none of her colleagues who were recruited in the same situation were spared. The highest amount was even charged 11,000 yuan for "meal expenses," "confidentiality fees," and "file establishment fees," and this part of the money was originally promised to be refunded. It was not refunded until I was forced to resign.
What the whistleblower did not expect was that collecting money was just the beginning of the whole scam. First, they were arranged by the company to work as extras and TV viewers on the crew and studio, and then they were forced to go to the "Human Resources Department" and online Publish recruitment information and work as customer service - use the same method you were recruited to recruit another group of peers with the same illusions. Apply for a job, pay money, and work as an extra in the crew.
If you refuse to work as customer service in the future and trick more people like you to come here, then the company will try to make you leave. "Not only will there be no salary, but the money will not be refunded."
On July 16, the whistleblower and the colleague who was deceived decided to call the police after discussing in the discussion group. Some people said that the reason why she persisted in working in the company for more than 20 days was because she wanted to understand what this deception was about.
The lawyer said that these so-called film and television media companies are actually committing fraud in the name of recruiting workers. According to the "Labor Contract Law", it is illegal for an employer to charge any fees during recruitment. For example, deposits, file fees, and clothing fees are not allowed. Niu Jianguo said that there is a lot of chaos in online recruitment now, and applicants should pay more attention. It is abnormal for companies to collect money, seize documents and contracts, or sign ultra-short-term contracts.
