Brief introduction of Luchang Yantian

Luchang saltworks is one of the three major saltworks in China and the largest saltworks in China. Located on the coast of Bohai Sea, it accounts for about a quarter of the total sea salt production in China. It consists of Luchang Hangu saltworks, Luchang Seaview Group, Luchang Daqing saltworks and Luchang Nanbao saltworks.

Among them, Luchang Hangu Salt Field has the longest history, and its predecessor was Lutai Salt Field, which was established in Tongguang three years in the later Tang Dynasty (925). The salt brick fired by Lutaichang was the only royal tribute salt brick in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and became the first time-honored brand in China.

Distribution area

Mainly distributed in the Bohai Sea coast of Hebei Province and Tianjin.

It starts from Huanghua in the south and ends at Shanhaiguan South in the north, including salt fields such as Hangu, Tanggu, Nanbao and Daqing River, with a total length of 370 kilometers. There are more than 2.3 million mu of salt fields, with an annual output of more than 3 million tons of sea salt, accounting for a quarter of the total sea salt production in China.
