The film tells the story of the mysterious disappearance of Zhang Bojing, an emissary of Weibo, one of the three towns of Heshuo, in the late Tang Dynasty under the historical background of the serious separatist situation in the buffer region. The emperor was furious and ordered Dali Temple to find out the real murderer.

As usual, Shao Qingpei of Dali Temple invited Su Yannan, Ma Qian, Jing Yue and others to investigate the case together. Weber, Zhang Bojing, Li and Dong Yuanji are in power and check each other. Zhang Bojing colluded with the other two towns and wanted to be king alone. Li and Dong Yuanji stopped them. Li arrested Zhang Bojing and locked him up for the common people. He wants to report to the court, but he doesn't want to cause disputes and start a narrative.

Through three sworn brothers, Zhang Bojing, Dong Yuanji and Li, the relationship between the brothers was set for their dramas, which made them under the temptation of power, love and emotion. Through the combination of action and suspense, the plot setting is confusing, guiding the audience to imagine, and finally revealing the substitution of contrast for the audience's emotions, and then suddenly realizing.
