Skills of using short focal length photographic lens

Short-focus photography lens has a short focal length, which is subdivided into ultra-wide-angle photography lens and ordinary wide-angle photography lens in film photography and photo photography. Generally, the lens with a focal length of 9mm-20mm in the 35mm cinematographic lens series and the lens with a focal length of 17mm-2 1mm in the 135 camera lens series (non-fisheye lens with a viewing angle greater than 90 degrees) are called super wide-angle lenses. In 35mm cinematography, a photographic lens with a focal length equal to or greater than 24mm and a distance 40mm shorter than the standard lens is called a general wide-angle lens. I'll take you to get to know it.

Skills of using short focal length photographic lens The shooting effect of short focal length lens

(1) When the camera position is fixed (that is, the shooting distance is equal and the shooting point is unchanged), the camera lens with short focal length can shoot a wide spatial range of the scene, which is easy to show the panorama and momentum of the shooting scene.

(2) When the position of the machine is fixed, the magnification of the image of the subject shot by the short-focus lens is very small, which can produce the effect of pushing and shrinking the subject in the shot picture, thus making the background farther away, increasing the sense of space depth and producing a broad and magnificent momentum.

Using the characteristics of its lens, the wide-angle photographic lens can push the background very far. As shown in the above picture, the ever-burning lamps in the foreground are in sharp contrast with the huge arch columns in the foreground and background in terms of distance and size, and the magnificent and mysterious atmosphere is expressed and set off by using the exaggerated perspective deformation effect of wide-angle photography lens.

(3) Shooting with a super wide-angle lens can get a very broad field of vision, which plays an irreplaceable role in showing the whole picture and setting off a special atmosphere. When shooting with a super wide-angle lens, the deformation of the scene in the center of the picture is small, and the image appears normal, while the deformation of the image near the edge of the picture is large. However, if the straight line in the shot scene points to the center of the picture, the distortion is very small.

(4) When the scene of the shot picture is fixed (the shooting distance between the camera and the subject is different), the short focal length camera can bring the foreground in the picture closer, resulting in a zoom-in effect; At the same time, the background is far away, which produces the effect of pushing away, thus significantly widening the sense of distance between the front and rear scenes, making the front and rear space of the shot picture look extended, and the difference between distance and distance is obviously enhanced.

Matters needing attention in using short focal length photographic lens

(1) Due to the wide field of view of the short-focus camera lens, sometimes the picture will contain a large area of the sky or even the whole sun, which makes the brightness of the scene in the shooting range very different, which will attract the close attention of the photometer.

(2) Pay close attention to the distortion of the subject image caused by perspective deformation, so as not to make it exceed the allowable limit of creative intention. Among them, we should pay special attention to the perspective deformation caused by close-range shooting, overhead shooting and overhead shooting. Therefore, it is generally not appropriate to use a lens with too short focal length to shoot close-ups of people, and it is also not appropriate to use a short focal length lens to shoot close-ups of people with depression angle or elevation angle. Otherwise, its perspective deformation effect and distortion aberration will make people's facial features, face shape and figure not symmetrical enough (for example, the forehead will become bigger and protruding, and the chin will become thinner; Backhand will enlarge and highlight the chin and narrow the forehead; Frontal shooting with a short focal length will make the nose bigger, the lips protruding and the ears smaller), and even make the portrait seriously distorted, resulting in distortion and ugliness, which will make the audience feel unnatural, even weird and funny, and even ruin the plot.

(3) Short-focus photographic lenses with large distortion are generally not suitable? Push, pull, shake, move and follow? Such as sports photography, so as to avoid that the image shape of the scene is constantly deformed with the movement of the camera during sports photography, which makes the audience feel uncomfortable (except for special needs).

(4) Due to the wide viewing angle of the short-focus photographic lens, when installing filters (especially more than two) or hoods at the front end of the lens, we should pay attention to whether their sizes match the lens. If the size of the filter or hood is too small, it will inevitably lead to the phenomenon of corner occlusion in the shot picture.

(5) When using a short focal length lens for close-up, in order to obtain the same image magnification, the shooting object distance will be smaller than that of a long focal length lens, so it will increase the difficulty of light distribution, which should be fully considered.
