What must-see attractions are there in Hunan in May?
Dawei Mountain is located in the northeast of Liuyang City, Hunan Province, at the junction of Hunan and Jiangxi. Dawei Mountain was originally a state-owned forest farm. It was developed and built into a national forest park with the approval of the former Ministry of Forestry in 1992, and officially opened in 1996. Every April and May, when ten thousand mu of azaleas are in full bloom, it is the most beautiful time in Dawei Mountain. If you miss the annual 10,000 mu Rhododendron Sea, wait another year.
Dawei Mountain is not only the birthplace of Liuyang River, but also the first peak in eastern Hunan. The elevation of Qixing Peak, the main peak, is 1607.9 meters.
During the flowering period, Daweishan National Forest Park will launch activities such as low-altitude flower sea tour, photo contest and Tik Tok contest. The low-altitude flower sea tour will allow tourists to take a helicopter to overlook the beauty of the Rhododendron Sea from the air, and the essence of Dawei Mountain will be unobstructed, allowing visitors to feel the grandeur of Dawei Mountain more intuitively.
2. Zhangjiajie
Zhangjiajie's three most elite scenic spots: Wulingyuan Scenic Spot, Tianmen Mountain Scenic Spot and Grand Canyon Scenic Spot. Among them, Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area is my most recommended.
Tianmen Mountain is a typical karst mountain landform with a total area of 68 square kilometers and the highest elevation of 15 18.6 meters. The absolute height is not large, but the relative height difference exceeds1300m. It controls the skyline of the south of the city with its height, majesty, danger, steepness and madness, giving people a majestic and steep momentum. Named after the Tianmen cave that passes through the hole. Tianmen Mountain has the longest ropeway in Asia (7455 meters one way), No.99 sharp bend Tian Tong Avenue, three sections of glass plank road and Ghost Valley plank road.
3. Fenghuang Ancient City in Xiangxi
The ancient city of Fenghuang, named by the New Zealand writer Louis Alley as the most beautiful town in China, a national AAAA scenic spot, one of the top ten cultural heritages in Hunan Province and one of the most famous ancient cities in China, is known as "Pingyao in the north and Phoenix in the south".
Tuojiang Tiaoyan is a popular scenic spot in the ancient city. Founded in the Tang Dynasty, it is said that Ganzhou was the only way to enter Wuzhai Temple City. It was rebuilt in the 43rd year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (1704), which is the ancient road from Fenghuang to Gancheng. Although it is an ancient bridge connecting the two banks, it can be seen from the appearance alone, because it has no bridge deck, so walking on it will have a feeling of jumping, hence the name.
Diaojiaolou is one of the buildings with strong Miao characteristics in Fenghuang Ancient City. Nowadays, the diaojiao buildings in the ancient city are mostly buildings in the Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. There are still more than a dozen families living there, and most of them have been transformed into homestays. If you want to watch the ancient city at night and the misty Tuojiang River in the morning, you can choose an inn room with higher coastal terrain. If you like quiet, don't worry. Bars in the ancient city have curfew hours, which will not disturb your pillow water and dreams.
