Yutian Huangtukan Battle

At the beginning of 1944, the vast base areas eroded by the Japanese invaders in the "Public Security Strengthening Movement" were basically restored except for the Jixian Plain and the Hebei-Baoding Border Area. In order to fully restore the areas eroded by the enemy, the Jidong Army Division decided to use the concentrated forces in winter to restore the anti-Japanese base area in Jixian County.

1944, 18, 10/8 night, the head of Jidong Army Division led the reconnaissance company of the military region, the 13th regiment, and the 3rd company of the independent fourth district team to advance from the northern mountainous area to Gao Zhuangzi, Huangtukan and other places on the border between Henan and Hebei, and prepared to attack the enemy-occupied areas of Jixian County from here. Because at that time, the Japanese army ruled Jixian strictly, the county town was densely covered with "human lines", and the Japanese aggressors and traitors were rampant. Therefore, the troops of the military division just arrived in this mountainous area and were immediately discovered by the Japanese army. The Japanese troops stationed in North China mobilized many troops overnight. 19 June 65438+ 10 19 morning, launched a sudden converging attack on Huangtukan, the headquarters of the Independent Fourth District Team, in an attempt to annihilate three companies of the Independent Fourth District Team in one fell swoop.

Although Huangtukan is a small village, it spans Jixian County, and there are roads in the village that can directly reach the chengguan of Tangshan, Tianjin and Jixian County. Therefore, the enemy can get here quickly when they know that the anti-Japanese troops are stationed here.

In the early morning, the first to arrive were 20 trucks carrying the infantry of the Eighth Brigade of the Japanese Army in Tangshan. This Japanese army, led by seven tanks, struck Huangtuling like lightning. When the Japanese army approached the village head, they all jumped out of the car. Under the cover of tanks, they attacked the village from the east in the form of a half moon. A company commander was guarding the temple in the east of the village, shooting at the enemy with the crossfire of machine guns, rifles and grenades to stop the enemy from advancing. A series of counterattacks from Dongda Temple led to a massive Japanese attack here. Relying on a large number of personnel and fierce firepower, the Japanese army captured Dongda Temple twice. In order to prevent the Japanese army from entering the village, the head of the independent fourth district team ordered the second company to retake the village east temple at all costs and personally direct the battle here. After a company of soldiers fought bravely, they finally regained the village east temple. The enemy drove the tanks into the village again. Soldiers bombed a tank with grenades, which broke the track and paralyzed it. At the same time, the soldiers also blocked the streets with trolleys, wood and other obstacles, so that other tanks could not enter the village.

When a company officer stopped the enemy on the East Road, hundreds of people from the 67th Brigade of the 63rd Division of the Japanese Army came from Jixian. This part of the Japanese army first controlled the brick kiln in the northwest of the village, and then covered the eastward advance with firepower to meet the Japanese army in the east of the village. At the same time, the Japanese army in the east of the village also moved rapidly to the west and south, with nearly 100 Japanese ninth brigade and more than 200 puppet troops who had just arrived from Baodi in the southwest of the village. At this point, the third Japanese army formed a tight encirclement of Huangtukan village and began to attack the independent four-district team in an all-round way. The Japanese army in the northwest of the village bombarded the village with mountain guns, mortars and Grenade launchers, and used the northwest wind to cast poison gas.

Houses in the northwest of the village collapsed under the heavy artillery bombardment. The three company commanders and fighters of the independent four-district team stick here, and change their combat positions flexibly from time to time to avoid the enemy's attack targets and fight back against the enemy. However, due to the unusually fierce artillery fire here, the Japanese army once captured the northwest corner of the village. Under the fierce counterattack of the three commanders, the position was taken back. A nun in the southwest of the village is also the focus of the enemy's attack on the west road. The Japanese and puppet troops in the southwest of the village spared no expense in heavy casualties and launched a series of attacks in an attempt to break into the village. The enemy captured the nun, and the second company replaced the wounded. Under the cover of machine guns and grenades, the commanders of the second company fought hand-to-hand with the enemy. More than 20 Japanese troops in the temple were all killed, and the position of the Southwest Temple was recaptured.

The battle lasted 10 for more than hours. In front of the big temple in the east of the village, the Japanese army was buried one by one in the northwest and southwest corners of the village. Although the Japanese army paid a huge price and organized many attacks, it has not been able to break into the village. The officers and men of the Independent Fourth District Team are becoming more and more brave and their positions are becoming more and more consolidated. In the afternoon, the enemy's offensive gradually weakened. After dark, the reconnaissance company stationed in GaoZhuangzi and Linhezhuang in the north and the 13th Regiment of the Military Region took the initiative to attack the Japanese army in Huangtukan, and the independent four-sector team, with the cooperation of the brothers, forcibly surrounded the enemy from the north of the village.

In this battle, the Japanese army dispatched about 1500 people, the puppet troops about 200 people, and equipped with all kinds of heavy weapons, while the independent fourth area team only had three companies with 500 people. The Japanese army attempted to annihilate the independent fourth area team with a powerful offensive. However, due to the brave and tenacious officers and men of the independent fourth area team, they not only saved themselves, but also annihilated more than 500 Japanese troops, with only 53 casualties. This is a rare example in the history of the Anti-Japanese War in eastern Hebei. This brilliant victory greatly inspired the people in Jixian County, especially the people in the occupied area of Jixian County, and shocked the Japanese army and traitors who were mad there. After this war, anti-Japanese workers went deep into the east and south of Jixian County, which opened up the situation for the restoration of Jixian Plain and Yubao Border Base.
