The first stop-the life of color

(1) blue

Now we live in a kaleidoscope-like world, and all kinds of colors are in front of us, such as red flag, white street lamps, green grass, yellow cars and so on. It seems that we don't think color is strange, but when we carefully observe and calm down to think, we will realize that color is hard-won and hidden. In this era of color flooding, how to cultivate our unique view of color? We can get a glimpse of the photographer's photos and video records. Photography is the art of using light. With light, objects on this planet can reflect various colors for our eyes to see.

Vermeer, a girl wearing pearl earrings, is now in the Morisius Museum in The Hague, the Netherlands. It is Vermeer's greatest work, as well as Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa, and is called "Mona Lisa in the North".

In Vermeer's paintings, there is often a very pure lake blue, which comes from the precious lapis lazuli and is equivalent to the price of the same amount of gold. In Vermeer's paintings, large areas of blue are said to symbolize Vermeer's economic strength, and some people say that he is heavily in debt. Because many works at that time would still come from orders from businessmen and nobles, large-scale blue works reflected the strong economic strength of the Netherlands in the "golden age" from the side. ↑ Bei Lini-The Statue of the Venetian Governor, with the extremely expensive lapis lazuli blue as the background, can be called "a painting piled up with banknotes".

Write Bei Lini-"The Saint and the Son", in which the Saint wears a bright blue cloak, which is the first time to attract attention in color.

In the paintings of Venice School, blue is so bright that it almost affects the composition. This is not because the artist deliberately shows off, but because the quality of this blue pigment is too good. After many years, other colors have worn out and faded. This expensive blue fades slowly, so it remains bright.

If you see a painting and think it is particularly blue, it is probably the work of Venetian painter Bei Lini. (Excerpted from Yan Bojun's Western Art Class)

= "Water Lily" Nymphé as1907 Houston oil painting on canvas in Houston Art Museum, with a width of 8 10mm and a height of 920mm.

Monet suffered from eye disease in his later years, so he could not accurately outline the shape of the object. But his research object is the transformation of light and shadow, which was originally elusive or accurately outlined. Therefore, with his years of painting experience and sensitivity to light, he can still create works that show the romantic poetry and mysterious effect of water lilies. From 65438 to 1990, Monet entered a period of tranquility and meditation, and he devoted himself to the creation of water lily features. In the early stage, he took ponds as the theme, and the composition also included the Japanese bridge across it. In the later period, the painter's attention was almost completely focused on the water surface of the pond, only depicting some ponds including water lilies, completely ignoring the landscape on the shore. The whole canvas was covered with the scene of the water surface, leaving only the reflections of water lilies, clouds, sky and trees, and integrating Monet's illusory thinking into the picture. (Excerpted from the classic works of western painting masters: Monet)

↑ Van Gogh-"Crow in the Rye" The wheat field with crows is now hidden in the Orsay Museum in France, showing pure color.

Van Gogh distorted the objective reality with strong subjective personal feelings, and described ordinary life with bright colors and perceptual brushstrokes. In this painting, blue is in sharp contrast with yellow, which has a strong visual impact.

↑ Picasso-an old guitarist, an old guitarist in the blue period, is now in art institute of chicago, and his blue-green timbre is the embodiment of his depressed mood at that time.

Picasso-Life, Life in the Blue Period, now in the Cleveland Museum of Art.

Picasso's works in the blue period were mostly blue-green, reflecting his depression at that time. The works of this period have obviously begun to show a strong modernist atmosphere, which does not follow the perspective law, has no rigorous composition and is deliberately realistic. But it can also be seen that Picasso in this period was still groping, and the concept of painting was not completely self-consistent. (Excerpted from Yan Bojun's Western Art Class)

What are the symbolic meanings and uses of blue in various ethnic groups?

Dutch royal family photo. Today, blue is also a color that symbolizes nobility and wealth.

In Britain, aristocratic blood is called "blue blood", and the dark blue clothes worn by the royal family and royal women are called "royal blue".

Thomas, look at the world. Borneo volcano in Indonesia? In the foggy morning, the side of the ridge illuminated by the sun turned warm yellow, while the clouds in the shadow on the other side remained cold and light blue, which was as beautiful as a fairyland.

Thomas looked at the Arctic of Ilulissat, Greenland in the evening. A fishing boat crossed the sea ice and slowly sailed back to the port of the fishing village. There is a sharp color contrast between purple clouds and blue sea ice.
