It can be said that the political influence, social benefits and economic benefits of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall have been well demonstrated. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is a magnificent octagonal palace building. The whole building covers an area of about 3700 square meters and is 49 meters high. It consists of four double-eaves palace-style buildings, surrounded by mountains, like four-story dragon ridges, forming a whole, with a huge octagonal pointed roof arched in the center. In the middle of Xieshan Peak with double eaves, there is a painted gold plaque with a blue background and a red edge hanging high, and the four characters of Sun Yat-sen are written on it, which is powerful and powerful. Under the eaves of the fa? ade, there are eight red terrazzo columns that can be surrounded by three people inside and outside, and the arch supports the ceiling painted with terrazzo, rice bucket arch, bouquet and mosaic patterns, with fine workmanship. Five huge rectangular bronze chandeliers, with heavy ears embedded in the glass, hung in the air in the tall corridor, reflecting the carved Dan door, making the hall more magnificent and antique.
The golden dome of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is oval, with a height of 3.79 meters and a diameter of 4.075 meters. The surface of such a huge golden dome is all inlaid with gold, and * * uses 36 166 high-quality gold foil purchased from Hong Kong, which is equivalent to 0.92kg ... In addition to the Jinding, the plaque of "Tianxiagong", the will of the Prime Minister, the outline of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the font of the cornerstone are all inlaid with gold foil. Together with the east-west annex building, backstage lounge and underground dressing room, the area is1.2000 square meters. The memorial hall adopts wooden pile foundation, steel frame and reinforced concrete structure.
The octagonal hall is designed with a steel truss with a span of 30 meters, and the big roof is connected by eight rows of steel trusses. The four corner walls are reinforced concrete shear walls with a thickness of 50 cm to bear the full weight of the roof. The building adopts steel truss cantilever structure, and the floor is poured with reinforced concrete. There is a big oval pillar with a four-fold fold on the roof. With a span of 30 meters, no column inside, a volume of 50,000 cubic meters and 5,000 seats, this hall was the largest hall building in China at that time, and it was also a bold and successful work that used a large number of traditional architectural forms in China.
The architecture of the memorial hall absorbs the excellent elements of traditional architecture in China, and it is magnificent as a whole. This feature is reflected in the detail decoration of the roof eaves. Guangzhou's traditional urban central axis was formed in history, which can be traced back to the Hanchaotai (Song and Dance Mountain) built by Zhao Tuo in Yuexiu Mountain during the South Vietnam period and the Guanyin Pavilion built in the Ming Dynasty. From north to south: Yuexiu Mountain Zhenhai Tower, Sun Yat-sen Monument, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Municipal People's Congress Building, Municipal Government Building, People's Park, Uprising Road, Guangzhou Liberation Monument, Haizhu Square, Haizhu Bridge to Liuwangdian (flower bed in the street center of Changgang Road), with a total length of about 8 kilometers.
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is located on this central axis and has become an important part of Guangzhou's urban historical backbone and a major urban landscape symbol. As the city flower, kapok is well known. "Ten-foot coral is kapok, the flowers are redder and fresher than the morning glow, and the trees in the south of the day are all peak fires, which is not as pitiful as Panzhihua." (Ming Qu Dajun). Guangzhou's oldest kapok tree (more than 300 years) is in Zhongshan Memorial Hall! This old tree witnessed the decay of the Qing Dynasty, the tragic uprising in Guangzhou, the perseverance of Sun Yat-sen, the uprising in Chen Jiongming, the establishment of the razed presidential palace and a brand-new memorial hall next to it, the gunfire of the rebels and the bombs dropped by the Japanese invaders. The wind flew away, the stars flowed away, and the old tree still stood quietly, savoring the centuries-old wind and frost when the night was long and quiet.
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall has not only the oldest kapok king in Guangzhou, but also the two largest white orchid trees in Guangzhou. They were planted when the foundation stone was laid and the memorial hall was completed. They spent more than half a century with the memorial hall. Evergreen and graceful green crowns can cover hundreds of square meters, just like two tall and brave guards guarding the memorial hall. Every year in early summer (June) and late autumn (June+10, 65438), the branches are covered with flawless flowers, which are fragrant with Wan Li, symbolizing the great achievements of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the forerunner of the revolution.

"Clouds and huabiao" are high above and magnificent. Its octagonal base is more than one person high, and the top of the column is surrounded by auspicious clouds, which is extraordinary and solemn.
4. Zhongshan Monument
Sun Yat-sen Monument is one of the memorial buildings to commemorate Dr. Sun Yat-sen, located at the top of Yuexiu Mountain, on the same axis as Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. This monument covers an area of more than 30 square meters and is a square cone-shaped building made of granite. Because it is big at the bottom and small at the top, it has four spires and is tall and straight, so it is quite towering. About 100 meters down from the monument, halfway up the mountain in Yuexiu Mountain, there is another building related to Dr. Sun Yat-sen, that is, Premier Sun's reading room.
