Relevant regulations for sky burials

In 2005, the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region issued a notice on the "Interim Provisions on the Management of Sky Burials". This is the third time since 1985 that the Chinese government has issued special announcements and notices on the protection of Tibetan sky burial platforms. Sky burial, a thousand-year-old funeral custom of the Tibetan people, is fully respected and protected. "Article 4 Sky Burial is protected by law. Any organization or individual is prohibited from engaging in the following activities: (3) Observing, photographing, filming, and videotaping the site of sky burial activities; (4) Violating newspapers, magazines, books, radio, film, and television, the Internet, etc. The media publishes, broadcasts, records, reprints and exaggerates texts, pictures, reports, etc. related to sky burial activities; (5) Organizes Chinese and foreign tourists to visit the sky burial platform as a tourist attraction.

Article 10 Anyone who violates these regulations and causes serious consequences shall be punished by the civil affairs and public security departments of the people's government at or above the county level in accordance with the law
