What is the post-production department of animation doing?

The post-production stage of animation is basically the photography stage of animation production. Sometimes dubbing is also included in post-production.

Photography in animation refers to the process of making the drawn pictures into continuous pictures, and then superimposing them with the background and special effects to finally become the animation we watch.

The reason why it is called photography is because before the development of computer technology, animations had to be shot on an animation studio after they were drawn. But now computer software synthesis is commonly used to save cost and time.

The post-production department is responsible for the above steps.
