Egypt: the dream of that summer

I had a dream in Egypt.

In the summer of 20 17, I was 20 years old and went to Egypt to be an overseas volunteer. Different from traveling in the traditional sense, I really felt the culture and customs of this country. Please listen to me slowly.

Depart from Guangzhou Baiyun Airport on the evening of July 15, and Egypt Airlines will fly directly, and arrive at Cairo Airport about 1 1 hour. The statue of Pharaoh and pyramid posters floating from the plane gave me a sense of reality. "Wow, I really came to this mysterious country!" I changed money at the airport and bought a phone card. I was about to contact the person in charge of the branch. I saw the little Egyptian brother who came to pick me up holding a sign with my name on it. Everything went well.

My little brother from Egypt sent me to my apartment in Maadi. I heard that the public security in the rich areas is better. All my friends traveled to Dahab and didn't come back until that evening, so I met friends from all over the world in the evening. Everyone was super enthusiastic and funny, and the previous worries suddenly vanished.

Everyday life is to go to work during the day and hi with friends at night. Let's start with my project. It's called lead green and it's about protecting the environment. If you go to work every Monday to Wednesday, you will actually work three to four hours a day and work in different NGOs. Sometimes I teach children how to protect the environment, and I also teach some English about protecting the environment. Sometimes I help places like welfare homes to transform the environment.

That's probably what work is like. In fact, I spend most of my time playing and traveling with my friends. On weekdays, I usually go to cafes to chat, watch football games or play games at home, which is casual and interesting.

Favorite coffee shop, on the Nile River in downtown Cairo. I like to sit there and blow the cool breeze, watching people singing and dancing on flueka, watching Arab women wearing headscarves laughing and laughing, and watching carriages and cars coming and going on the bridge. I used to think that religion completely bound them. Isn't this life boring? When I came to Egypt, I found that, on the contrary, the couples snuggled together on the bridge were whispering, and the people in the cafe were watching the football match together. Perhaps it is because the daytime is too hot, the nightlife of the Egyptian people is always rich, and the streets in Cairo are still busy at three o'clock in the morning.

Tell me about my trip in Egypt, mainly to go out with friends on rest days. First I went to the Black and White Desert, then Luxor, Aswan and Alexandria, and of course Cairo.

The black and white desert tour is a branch organization, which lasted for two days and one night. We set off from Cairo at seven o'clock the first morning and then headed for the desert. Along the way, it keeps marching in the desert, and when it reaches a scenic spot, it will stop to enjoy it. I went to the black desert first and always wanted to know why it was called the black desert. How can the sand be black? Only when I got there did I know that it was because all the stones in the desert were black, and the name of the white desert was for the same reason. I watched the desert sunset in the evening. There is no "solitary smoke", but the sunset is really round. In the background of desert, the sunset is really shocking! The campsite at night belongs to the Sahara desert, and the bonfire party reaches its climax. Foreign friends can sing and dance with Arabic music, which is super emotional.

Luxor's trip to Aswan lasted five days and four nights. I stayed in Aswan for one night and went to Nubian village. It is said that there are 100,000 crocodiles there, and Nubians worship crocodiles as gods (of course, I only see one crocodile). Don't say it, just go to the picture!

We went to Luxor by boat along the Nile. There are many temples, the Valley of the Kings. Because I didn't know the history of Egypt in advance, I just saw a pile of stones. Except Luxor Temple, Queen's Valley and Queen Hatshepsut Temple, all the other names have been forgotten (sorry), just go to the picture above.

Next is Alexandria, which can be said to be my favorite city in Egypt. The reason is really nice. The blue of the Mediterranean is deeply rooted in people's hearts, and adults and children in Alexandria are at ease. There is also the Alexandria Library, which contains a small part of human civilization.

Cairo branch. It's very casual in Cairo. I go out for a walk almost every day. When I am bored, I will go to some interesting places, and I also go to many places. The National Museum of Egypt, Ali Mosque, Saladin Castle and, of course, the pyramids (see below).

Tell me about your impression of Cairo. When I first went there, I talked with my friends about Egyptian time and Egyptian style. It's just that Egyptians are slow-witted, a little inefficient and like to be late. In retrospect, I still like enthusiastic Egyptians. Then what I don't like most is the streets of Cairo, which are full of loess dust. Finally, I gave up brushing my shoes and walked around Cairo in flip-flops every day. There is also the price! Price! What I miss most after returning home is the price there! Really cheap!

These are just a small part of life in Egypt. There were many interesting things in forty days in Egypt. do you want to hear them?

My dream has not been fulfilled. . .
